Biography: Dr. Anthony Choi is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation. After receiving his B.S. from Brown University and M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College, he completed his medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Choi completed his advanced fellowship training in Transplant Hepatology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University, where he was chief hepatology fellow. He specializes in the management of patients with liver diseases including autoimmune liver disease, viral hepatitis B and C, fatty liver disease, metabolic liver disease, and liver cancers. He sees patients with end-stage liver disease (cirrhosis) and evaluates those who need liver transplantation. He provides medical care to patients before and after liver transplantation. Weill Medical College of Cornell University and an Attending Physician, New York-Presbyterian Hospital Cornell campus. She completed all of her post-graduate medical training at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), including internal medicine in 2008, gastroenterology fellowship in 2011, and transplant hepatology in 2012. During her gastroenterology fellowship, she completed a Master's of Advanced Studies in Clinical Research in 2011.In 2012, she joined the faculty at UCSF, where she served an integral role in the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and nurse practitioners. She was the director of the intern and resident required and elective rotations in liver transplantation and hepatology. She served as the Program Director for the ACGME-certified Transplant Hepatology Fellowship. She was a key educator in hepatology and liver transplantation for internal medicine residents and subspecialty fellows. Her teaching skills were recognized with an Excellence in Teaching Award from the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators in 2015. She has provided formal and informal mentorship to numerous trainees. She received the Mentor of the Year Award by the UCSF Clinical and Translational Science Institute Resident Research Program. She has served as a mentor for the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD) for several Emerging Liver Scholars.

Biography: Dr. Emily Schonfeld is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr.Schonfeld earned her BS in biological sciences at Cornell University. She obtained her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and then completed her internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY. She went on to do a gastroenterology fellowship at the New York University School of Medicine and then a transplant hepatology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Prior to joining Weill Cornell Medical Center, Dr. Schonfeld spent three years as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Colorado Hospital.Dr. Schonfeld is a transplant hepatologist who specializes in the care of patients with all types of liver disease, including viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, autoimmune liver disease, metabolic liver disease, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Biography: Tatyana Kushner, MD, MSCE is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Gastroenterology, with joint appointments in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Population Health Sciences. Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of liver diseases, with a focus on viral hepatitis (hepatitis B,C, and D) and women with liver disease, including pregnancy-related liver conditions and reproductive health as it pertains to liver disease.Her research interests focus on delineating the influence of chronic liver disease (such as MASLD and viral hepatitis) on pregnancy outcomes, developing improved detection and management of liver diseases during pregnancy (such as cholestasis of pregnancy and other liver diseases in pregnancy), and improved understanding of the interaction of liver disease with pregnancy. In addition, her clinical research program also focuses on delineating the epidemiology and outcomes of individuals living with viral hepatitis, such as delta hepatitis, and developing interventions to optimize detection and treatment of viral hepatitis. Her work has been published in numerous gastroenterology and liver journals.Dr. Kushner received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, and graduated with academic distinction. She then received her medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine where she also completed a residency program in Internal Medicine. She received fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also obtained a Masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology. She then completed a fellowship in transplant hepatology at the University of California, San Francisco. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology.

Biography: Dr. Sonal Kumar graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis in 2002 and obtained her medical degree in 2006 from Washington University School of Medicine. She subsequently completed internal medicine internship and residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital - Washington University School of Medicine and then Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital - Harvard University. During fellowship, she also received her Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Kumar is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology/Hepatology.Dr. Kumar is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and currently is the Director of Clinical Hepatology at Weill Cornell Medical College. Biography: Adriana Perez, M.D., M.S. is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine. She is also an attending pediatrician at New York Presbyterian Komansky Children's Hospital. She is board-certified in General Pediatrics and board-eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology. She earned her M.D. degree at the 3rd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic in 2011. Afterwards, she spent several years working as clinical researcher and translational scientist. Dr. Perez completed pediatric residency in Medisys Health Network (Flushing Hospital and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center) in New York followed by three-year fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Children's Hospital at Montefiore. During her fellowship, she received her M.S. degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Clinical Research Methods. Passionate about liver disease, Dr. Perez completed advanced fellowship in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia.
