Travis Austin Doering, MD, received his undergraduate education from Amherst College with a bachelor of the arts in biology and computer science. Prior to attending medical school, he performed two years of immunology research at the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on bioinformatics.Dr. Doering received his medical degree from the Barbara and Donald Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University in 2015, graduating with a distinction in research, and completed his internship in general surgery (2016) and four-year residency in orthopedic surgery (2020) at Northwell Health, where he served his final year as chief resident.During his residency, Dr. Doering earned several accolades including Resident of the Year in 2017. After his residency, Dr. Doering completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the prestigious Campbell Clinic at the University of Tennessee HSC.Dr. Doering specializes in the operative and nonoperative management of hand and upper extremity disorders, including traumatic conditions, arthritis, and sports-related conditions. He has special interests in upper extremity fracture care, shoulder arthritis, tendon and nerve repairs, carpal tunnel and other nerve compression syndromes, and reconstructive surgery of the hand.
