Biography: My role as a physician is to understand each patient's individual needs and personalize treatment. I have over thirteen years of experience in all aspects of spinal surgery and I am constantly learning new and innovative skills to better serve my patients.

Care Philosophy: The best method of achieving relief from pain comes from routine exercise, dieting and a focus on lifestyle change. I offer a variety of procedures that provide windows of pain relief, from a few months to a few years. During that time, I will help patients focus on diet and exercise so they can change their lives for the better and become more independent.

Care Philosophy: My goal is to treat every patient like they are my own family. That means I will walk them through everything I know about their concern and let them know what I'm thinking and why I'm thinking that. But at the end of the day; I ask myself, what would I recommend if you were my family member?

Biography: Dr. Halpin is a native of Olympia and graduated from Capital High School before attending Brown University in Rhode Island where he earned a degree in Chemistry with Honors. He graduated medical school from Northwestern University and remained there to complete a residency in the Department of Neurological Surgery. During that time he also spent one year doing advanced training in complex spinal deformity and minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. Halpin was awarded the Susan Perlman award during his chief resident year, given to the senior resident who best exemplifies academic excellence, special leadership skills, and compassion for patients. He joined Olympia Orthopaedic Associates in 2011 and sees patients in our Westside location. Dr. Halpin is a member of the South Sound Gamma Knife® Team at St. Joseph.

Care Philosophy: Joshua Shatsky, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon whose primary focus is spinal pathology, including degenerative cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine pathology, adult spinal deformity, spine tumor, and cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine trauma. _x000D_ Dr. Shatsky completed one of the most competitive orthopedic traumatology fellowships in the country at Harborview Medical Center and followed that with an intensive interdisciplinary orthopedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship at Harborview Medical Center/University of Washington. Combining the two orthopedic disciplines has given him a unique perspective and skills, allowing him to address many challenging spinal and traumatic pathologies. _x000D_ Dr. Shatsky is a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS), a candidate member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Biography: Adam Olsson, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in pain management. His goal is to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to include medication management, interventional procedures, education and guidance to better understand and transcend the complex medical condition that is chronic pain. _x000D_ Dr. Olsson is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and American Medical Association. _x000D_ He most recently served as the Deputy Chief of the Interdisciplinary Pain Management Center at Madigan Army Medical Center on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Biography: Dr. Trent Tredway, MD is a Neurosurgery Specialist who practices in Poulsbo, WA. He is 58 years old and has been practicing for 28 years. Dr. Trent Tredway, MD is affiliated with St. Michael Medical Center-Silverdale.

Care Philosophy: Christine Hammer, MD, is a neurosurgeon who specializes in adult spine neurosurgery. She treats degenerative conditions, tumors, cysts and Chiari malformations; implants spinal cord stimulators, pain pumps and shunts; and performs arthroplasty and laminoplasty. Dr. Hammer pursues an evidence-based, comprehensive care plan that has been individualized to each patient in order to address their unique needs. While she has trained with the most advanced tools and technology, she understands the circumstances that indicate when a minimally invasive or open surgical approach should be used. Dr. Hammer is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and Counsel of State of Neurological Societies. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and being active.

Biography: Dr. Venu M. Nemani, MD, PhD is a spinal surgeon at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. His practices includes both the routine surgical treatment of degenerative spinal conditions, as well as complex spinal reconstructions and revision spinal surgery for scoliosis, kyphosis, spinal tumors, trauma, and infections.
