Biography: Although Dr. Beal was born in Detroit, Mich., he has lived in Shreveport since was 4 years old. After graduating from Caddo Parish Magnet High School in 1992, he then completed his undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he held many honors for his exemplary achievements and club participations. In 2000 he received his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and completed his otolaryngology training at LSU in 2005. During this time, he not only excelled in academics he also participated in a unique pilot drug study of quantitative aspiration in patients with symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Beal is licensed by the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners and is a board certified Diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is also a member of the Shreveport Medical Society and Louisiana State Medical Society. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, running and spending time with his family.

Biography: A graduate of Stanley Medical College in India. Dr. Tivakaran completed his neurology residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and completed Fellowship in neuromuscular disorders at Penn State Hershey Medical center, and Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at University of Missouri-University Hospital and clinics in Columbia Missouri. Dr. Tivakaran started his practice in Bossier City, Louisiana in 1996. Dr. Tivakaran is board certified in Neurology and board certified in Sleep medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His expertise includes treating a wide variety of neurological and sleep disorders including migraine, stroke, seizures, Parkinson's disease, peripheral neuropathy, obstructive sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, REM behavior disorder and narcolepsy. Dr. Tivakaran is a member of American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic medicine, and Louisiana State Medical Society. He and his wife are parents of 2 children. He enjoys spending time with his family and several local community activities.
