Brion Gardner is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and has received several military awards including the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his care of critically wounded Marines and Navy Sailors injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. Biography: Dr. Kim graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering and computer science. He obtained his MD degree at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed residency training at Temple University Hospital and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Georgetown University. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and is a Fellow in American Orthopaedic Surgeons Society. Dr. Kim treats patients with all types of orthopedic conditions but specializes in sports medicine and osteoarthritis problems. Most of his elective cases are performed via minimally invasive arthroscopic approach. He also performs total knee replacements utilizing robotic surgery. After earning a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Novak received his medical degree from Georgetown University where he was named a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society. He remained in Washington, DC, at Georgetown University Medical Center to complete a residency in orthopaedic surgery. He then completed advanced fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Van Nuys, California.
