Great bedside manner, patient and informative, couldn’t be happier with the outcome

I was initially impressed with my fast recovery, but the knee Dr. Kraekel did for me has been a mess. It is catching and popping out of alignment, way out of alignment. When this happens, it is extremely painful. I kept exercising and did PT, but it hasn't gotten better. Yesterday it popped out again when I was just putting my shoe on. Horrible pain. I have to push through the pain and stretch it out to get it to pop back into place. The doctor I saw for an opinion said Dr. Kraekel chose the wrong knee replacement apparatus for me, that this one has too much play in it, and it's sliding around. He said that at my age, I should have had a sturdier one. He wants to do another knee replacement. I worked so hard on rehab, and the operation was really tough on me. The last thing I want is to do this again. Plus, with another one, there will be more scar tissue, more chance that it won't go well. I would never recommend Dr. Kraekel. Never.

Dr Kraekel is an amazing Orthopedic surgeon. I had knee replacement surgery, resulting from a bad fall. This accident required extensive surgery replacing the original knee appliance with a heavy duty appliance. In addition, I was needing rods inserted into my bones up & down my leg. After an additional fall, I cracked my kneecap & required an another surgery. Dr Kraekel is an amazingly good surgeon, plus lets you know he really cares about you as a special person with cares & concerns about the surgeries needed. Dr Karekel is a wonderful surgeon & very caring person. I totally recommend him as a surgeon who will not disappoint.

Dr. Kraekel was so professional throughout the entire hip replacement process. He took time to answer my many questions, which eased the angst associated with the surgical process. I am so grateful to have been in his care. Dr. Kraekel's expertise is matched by the humanity he brings to his patients. Excellent surgeon. Excellent human being. A wonderful combination.

I went to see Dr. Kraekel because a previous replacement on my left knee had failed and I also needed to have knee replacement surgery on my right knee. He took me from a worried and angry state of mind to being at peace that I was in the right hands moving forward. Once he understood what he was dealing with for my left knee, he laid out a course of action to get the issue corrected. He listened to my concerns and was able to put me at ease. He explained everything in great detail, answered all my questions and patiently listened to me. Dr. Kraekel performed surgery on my left knee to correct that issue. Once I was healed enough, he performed surgery on my right knee. I am now on a great path of recovery and am walking and feeling better. I'm so grateful to have found Dr. Kraekel. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a solid thinking, kind, thorough, professional and great surgeon.

My husband met Dr. Sean while in Methodist, he trusted that he would be able to help us with knee replacements and enabling him to walk. Both knees were done with him, he offered patience and kindness. He was fully transparent, explained throughly, and assured us that he would take care of him. It was so nice to finally be able to see his knees straight and him up and walking!

He did my Pop Pops knee replacements! He answered all of our questions and was very attentive to his needs. He is patient and understanding. I would highly recommend!!

Dr.Kraekel performed two total hip replacements in 2022 and 2023 just seven months apart. On both occasions, I had rapid and full recovery even though I was 85 yrs old. He went way above the call of duty to fit me into his schedule for the second procedure. Count your fortunate if he is your surgeon

Dr. Kraekel and his staff could not have been more caring,informative and professional in helping me through my hip replacement. I never felt like they were in a hurry to move on to the next patient and they took the extra time to answer all our questions and concerns. Dr. Kraekel and his staff are a tribute to the medical profession. Everything about the surgery was plainly laid out as to what and when it was to happen. Also the Methodist hospital system and their staff are to be commended as well for a fine job.

my surgery was a breeze. Everything was so well organized comfortable. I am really sad to hear that he is moving out of Houston.

Dr Kraekel is a very good listener and his primary objective is to assist the patient. I have been seeing Dr. Kraekel for more than 3 years re my hip joints and my knees. His analysis is objective and he clearly explains the pros and cons for various options of treatment. Deicisions of how to proceed are made with his guidance and the patients input.

X-rays were taken of the surgery Dr. Kraekel did on my left femur. He listened to me and ordered X-rays of the surgery done on my right femur by a surgeon in California. All the X-rays showed surgeries were successful. Dr. Kraekel was courteous and respectful, calm and friendly, is talented in his field, and speaks in everyday language.

Several consultations, recommendations & 2 knee replacements later, I would recommend Dr Kraekel to anyone. We, not he, did extensive investigation into what was needed, options & expectations. I had a clear understanding that I did not need to do anything but surgery was my choice. Wish I'd done it 5 years sooner to alleviate the pain. Contrary to all the horror stories, I was walking the next day after both replacements. Not much, but I could. 4 weeks later I have no need of a walker or cane, do stairs fairly well & am comfortable on my stationary bike. With their direction, I see improvement daily.

Doctor Kraekel is extremely knowledgeable in his area of expertise. He is friendly, and concerning towards patients. He takes His time to explain what is going to happen and why. I was very concerned as this was my first ever operation in 66 years, I really felt as if Doctor Kreakel took me under his wing and was there to advise me, console me, and explain everything to me. He went above and beyond, when I had issues obtaining physical therapy. He showed up and explained everything to me and my family after surgery, and was consice, and never in a hurry. Im heading into retirement and I feel great. I may even get back on my motocross bike soon! Dr Kreakel is a excellent surgeon, doctor, and all around good person He has a staff of nurses who you can tell love to work for Him, as He promotes confidence and a good environment. Dr. Kraekel is the best Doctor I have ever been to. He has a great bedside manner. He explains in detail what is going on with your knee in my case. He presents the pros and cons and then he tells you it is your decision, No high pressure, just the plain truth. My knee was causing me so much pain. After recovery I am walking better than I have in years. I hate that he is leaving Texas as I still have another problem knee and I hate that he will not be here to do that surgery. If you need a knee surgery he is the best surgeon to go to

Dr Kraekel did my total knee replacement and I was totally pleased not only with his excellent surgical skills, but also with the way he made me feel so comfortable talking to him about the procedure. He took the time to really listen to all my concerns and answer all my questions. I had complete confidence in him, and even though it was not an easy recovery, Dr. Kraekel had prepared me for what to expect and I got through it just fine. I recently moved from NY to Texas and had to find new Drs. I scheduled an appt with Dr Kraekel and knew immediately he would be my aches and pains Dr !!!!! He was very professional, funny, patient, and honest and took the time to really listen. I’m so sad to see him move on from Texas… but know he will be great wherever he settles.
