Dr. Nicholas Iafe, MD Ophthalmology
I was admitted to the UCLA hospital due to sever eye infection which made my left eye to go blind in less than four hours. Dr. Nicholas Iafe from Retina division of Jules Stein was the on-call doctor who started attending to me. I stayed at the hospital for 8 days for them to run every possible test to reveal the source of the problem. Throughout my stay Dr. Iafe made me extremely comfortable and he personally followed every procedure to make sure I receive the best possible care. He truly is one of the best doctors I have met. He goes way beyond the norm to care for his patients. Finally, after two weeks without finding any cause and when my eye had calm down. Dr. Iafe and Dr. Hamid Hosseini at UCLA Jules Stein performed Vitrectomy on my eye with a very successful result. They also removed my natural lens to be replaced later when my eye settles down. Now I can see but blurry due to missing lens. I've been told this type of disease does not have good outcome. but with the performance
