Biography: Kelsey Edwards, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant with Commonwealth OB/GYN Specialists in Richmond, Virginia, affiliated with Henrico Doctors' Hospital. She earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. Prior to graduate school, Ms. Edwards received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Lincoln Memorial University. Ms. Edwards provides gynecologic care for women at all stages of life, from adolescence through menopause. Biography: Cecelia H. Boardman, MD, is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist with Virginia Gynecologic Oncology, part of the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network at Henrico Doctors' Hospital. Dr. Boardman completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, as well as a postdoctoral research fellowship at Magee-Women's Hospital with University of Pittsburgh. She completed her residency and internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Magee-Women's Hospital at University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Boardman earned her medical doctorate from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and graduated cum laude from Yale University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.Dr. Boardman is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Owens received her medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, after which she served as an Ob/Gyn in the U.S. Navy for four additional years. Amongst her military awards she received the Navy Commendation Medal prior to relinquishing her commissioning as a Lieutenant Commander. Following her military service, she completed her Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at University of California, Davis Medical Center.Dr. Owens is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. As part of the team at Virginia Gynecologic Oncology, Dr. Owens provides expert care for women diagnosed with cancers of the cervix, ovaries, uterus, vagina, vulva, and endometrium. Dr Owens performs complex surgical procedures with a focus on minimally invasive procedures; she then optimizes perioperative outcomes with use of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) strategies. Biography: Christina Wilson, PhD, WHNP-BC, is a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner with Virginia Gynecologic Oncology, part of the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Virginia. She also graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with her Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), degree in Nursing Science. Furthermore, she completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Utah, with training in Cancer, Caregiving, and End-of-Life Care. During both her doctoral and post-doctoral training, she gained extensive knowledge and experience in clinical trials, as well as, in the management of sexual health and menopausal symptoms in patients with cancer or a genetic predisposition to cancer. In her position at Virginia Gynecologic Oncology as a PhD prepared Nurse Practitioner, she will see patients clinically and contribute to the growing clinical trial program. She is board-certified as a women's health nurse practitioner by the National Certification Corporation and has over a decade of advanced nursing experience in oncology and women's health. She has received numerous honors and awards, most recently being awarded a Gynecologic Oncology Group Foundation New Investigator Award by the Gynecologic Oncology Group Foundation & NRG Oncology. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Scientific Network on Female Sexual Health & Cancer and is an active member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Committee for NRG Oncology, one of the National Clinical Trial Network organizations. Additionally, she has been active in clinical research, and published in numerous journals and presented nationally.When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her pets, family, and friends.
