His post-doctoral training included an internship in General Surgery at Marshall and a residency in Ophthalmology at George Washington University, where he also served as Chief Resident. It was at The Retina Group of Washington that he completed his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery. Dr. Barazi is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. He is affiliated with Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University Hospital, Inova Fairfax and Fair Oaks Hospitals, Friendship Surgery Center and Children's National Medical Center. He is also a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at the Georgetown University Hospital/Washington National Eye Center Residency Program and a member of numerous professional societies and academic associations. Dr. Zaver grew up in Georgia, where he first obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and subsequently his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He continued his education with a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Houston Health Science Center, the largest medical complex in the world, where fast-paced, pathology-driven experience prepared him for a rigorous glaucoma subspecialty fellowship at the University of Colorado under the tutelage of world-renowned glaucoma specialists. Dr. Zaver is looking forward to serving the greater northern Virginia area with expertise in the newest medical and surgical glaucoma treatments, cataracts, and comprehensive Ophthalmology. He is board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Glaucoma Society. He enjoys gardening, hiking, and old family recipes.
