Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Andrew Pytiak is dedicated to helping young athletes return to, and stay on the playing field. He has fellowship training in both pediatric orthopaedics and sports medicine and is passionate about synthesizing these two disciplines to address the unique challenges presented by young, athletic patients. He honed his skills by providing sideline, training room and practice coverage for multiple Division I collegiate athletic teams at the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of Denver. He has also served as the team physician for Colorado high school football teams. He serves as a resource for patients with fractures, cartilage damage, ligament tears, injured growth plates and torn tendons. Dr. Pytiak is an active researcher in pediatric orthopedics and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. A focus of his research is upper extremity injuries in the young throwing athlete. He has lectured and presented research around the world in locations including Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America. Motivated by a belief that all children have the right to live happy, healthy lives Dr. Pytiak has also participated in international medical mission trips to help provide basic medical care to medically underserved communities. Outside of medicine, Andrew enjoys the unique exhilaration provided be downhill mountain biking, motorcycling, surfing, and alpine skiing. He loves traveling far off the beaten track and has visited over 25 countries.

Biography: Dr. Ellman is the director of hip arthroscopy and a founding member of the International Center for Hip Preservation at Sky Ridge Medical Center in metro Denver, Colorado. Dr. Ellman is also an integral member of the sports medicine team at Panorama Orthopedics and Spine Center. Dr. Ellman brings with him unique experience in treating athletes of all ages. He has a special interest in hip preservation surgery, focusing on the arthroscopic treatment of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) syndrome, hip dysplasia, and labral tears. Dr. Ellman completed his orthopedic residency training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. As a resident, he published more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters focused on cartilage biology, biochemical pathways involved in osteoarthritis, and orthopedic surgical techniques, and was awarded the American Academy of Orthopedics Baxter Healthcare Scholarship for his research in hip preservation. Dr. Ellman also participated in sports team coverage for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. Following residency, Dr. Ellman completed a one-year fellowship in sports medicine and hip arthroscopy at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. During this time, he trained under world-renowned surgeons in the field of hip, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and traveled to Chile and Austria as the team physician for the United States Alpine and Boardercross teams. He currently serves as a consultant team physician for the United States Olympic Ski and Snowboard teams as well as Denver University athletics. In addition to his substantial contributions to the written literature, he has presented more than 100 abstracts, video presentations and surgical techniques at national and international meetings.
