Care Philosophy: Dr. Gray is the Division Chief, Section of Adult Arthroplasty and Joint Reconstruction, and the William Petty Endowed Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the University of Florida College of Medicine.He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He obtained his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia where he was elected to the AOA Medical Honors Society, and where he graduated with honors. He completed his internship, residency, and research fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was elected to serve as Academic Chief Resident by his faculty and peers. He then completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery of the Hip and Knee at University of California San Francisco Medical Center where he served on faculty prior to coming to the University of Florida.Dr. Gray is active in several national organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leader'??s Program.He has won multiple honors for his work while at UF, including the highest honors at the UF Patient Safety and Quality Week, an exemplary teaching award from the UF College of Medicine, and most recently a Faculty Enhancement Award to study leadership and management through the American Orthopaedic Association and the USC Marshall School of Business. I completed medical school and Orthopedic Surgery Residency in Alberta, Canada and then completed further training in Joint Replacement at Rothman Orthopedic Institute in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania. I had a late start to medicine having worked both commercial fishing and felling timber after graduating high school.
