Dr. Shin offers his patients a comprehensive set of potential procedures to alleviate pain using minimally invasive techniques including, but not limited to: fluoroscopically-guided spine/joint procedures, ultrasound-guided peripheralnerve blocks, regenerative medicine treatments, and neuromodulation.Dr. Shin received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He then attended Baylor College of Medicine wherehe earned his medical degree. He completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He then completed his ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pain Medicine at UC San Diego Center for PainManagement.Outside of work, Dr. Shin is a competitive soccer player and swimmer. Biography: Dr. Vandana Sood is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is dual board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine.Dr. Sood received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and earned a medical degree from New York Medical College. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and went on to complete fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. She has experience caring for both recreational and professional athletes, and has been a team physician for high school, collegiate and professional sports teams. She has a particular interest in running related injuries and injuries affecting female athletes.Dr. Sood's clinical practice focuses on the non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, spine disorders and acute sports injuries. Her goal is to work with patients to restore function, reduce pain, and prevent future injury. By providing personalized education and a comprehensive treatment plan including detailed physical therapy and/or an exercise plan, she promotes anactive and healthy lifestyle. She is skilled in image-guided injection techniques using both fluoroscopy and ultrasound to precisely target the spine, peripheral joints, or soft tissue (tendon, bursa, nerve, muscle). This includes specialized treatments such as hyaluronic acid or PRP injections, or nerve ablations to complement the treatment plan when appropriate.

Biography: Dr. Robert J. Strauch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems in adults and children. He has a special interest in nerve problems of the upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome, and in treating congenital hand disorders. The specialty of hand surgery melds together elements and principles of orthopedic, plastic, neurological and vascular surgery to restore and maximize hand and upper extremity function, whether wielding a jackhammer, throwing a baseball, or playing the violin. Dr. Strauch has authored and co-authored numerous articles in the field of hand surgery and is actively engaged in basic and clinical research. He served as President of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2006-2007. Dr. Strauch has been included in the list of New York Magazine's and "Best Doctors in New York" in addition to being regularly listed in America's Top Doctors. He is also an accomplished amateur magician and has been known to entertain as well as to diagnose and treat his patients. Children, especially, actually look forward to a return office visit with the "magician".

Biography: Dr. Pitaro grew up in Queens, NY, is an alumnus of Regis High School and graduated with a BS in biology from Georgetown University. He received his medical degree from SUNY- Health Science Center at Brooklyn. While in medical school, he spent time in Ghana on a Department of Preventative Medicine and Community Health scholarship . He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at NYU Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital. After medical school, he was an attending physician at the Bellevue Hospital Medical Clinic and started and ran an inpatient medical service for the clinic's hospitalized patients. Prior to joining Weill Cornell, Dr. Pitaro was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and practiced internal medicine and primary care for over 28 years at Murray Hill Medical Group (later Caremount Medical Group). While at Murray Hill, in addition to a full time practice, he served on the executive committee and was the compliance officer. He lives in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. He is an avid squash player and soccer fan who also enjoys spending time and traveling with his family.
