Biography: Dr. Bret Taback is a nationally recognized surgical oncologist in the New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center department of surgery. Dr. Taback is a leader in the clinical management of melanoma, sarcoma and skin/soft tissue tumor surgery. Dr. Taback is the Director of the Melanoma and Sarcoma Program and Director of the Breast Surgery Fellowship. Dr. Taback received his MD degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston , and completed his general surgery residency at Brown University, Rhode Island Hospital. During that time he completed a Basic Science Research Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston. Following this, he completed a fellowship in Complex Surgical Oncology at the John Wayne Cancer Institute, Santa Monica, California. Dr. Taback is a member of a number of organizations and societies including Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has published and authored numerous peer review manuscripts, abstracts and presentations, as well as book chapters over the years in notable publications such as Annals of Surgery, Annals of Surgical Oncology, Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research and the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. He is a clinical investigator with SWOG and Alliance for clinical trials. Dr. Taback has served on numerous hospital committees including tumor boards, Institutional Review Boards, Oncology Operations Council and is the American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer Physician Liaison for NYP Hospital. Most recently, Dr. Taback is a noted Castle Connolly Top Doctor.

Biography: Dr. Petukhova received her Bachelor's degree in Genetics, Cell, and Developmental Biology at Dartmouth College. She then pursued postbaccalaureate intramural research training at the National Institutes of Health in neurobiology. After matriculating in a dual degree program at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, she received her Medical degree and a Master's degree with special qualifications in clinical research.Dr. Petukhova completed her internship training at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and Dermatology residency at the University of California, Davis. During her residency, she completed several clinical research studies focusing on skin cancer prevention and cosmetic dermatology. Following residency, she received additional fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology in a combined program with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center combined, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Weill Cornell Medical School.Dr. Petukhova is a specialist in cutaneous oncology and procedural dermatology, including Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.Dr. Petukhova sees patients Downtown at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Lower-Manhattan Hospital at 156 William Street.

Biography: Stephanie M Gallitano, MD, joined the faculty of the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University and the staff of NewYork-Presbyterian in 2017. She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology, Director of Milstein and Allen Hospital Inpatient Consultation, and Dermatology Residency Program Director. She received her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She completed her medical internship at New York University Hospital and completed her Dermatology residency at SUNY-Downstate where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Gallitano's unique areas of interest include treating patients with dermatologic conditions related to their history of solid organ transplantation, cancer-treatment-related skin reactions, skin reactions that occur during hospitalization, and autoimmune/autoinflammatory skin disease. She enjoys caring for patients with cutaneous skin infections or skin diseases related to immunosuppression. She enjoys collaborating with colleagues throughout the institution to provide multidisciplinary care that results in optimal outcomes for patients. She is happiest when her patients get better. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Gallitano enjoys teaching residents during clinic, didactics and bedside rounds. Outside of work, she loves hiking, cooking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.Dr. Gallitano is active with the Women's Dermatologic Society, the Society of Dermatology Hospitalists, and the American Academy of Dermatology. She has authored numerous articles in medical dermatology and has lectured at local and national conferences.
