Biography: Michael P. Campbell, MD, is a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine including joint preservation, replacement, and reconstruction. After receiving a Bachelor of Science and Medical Degree from Georgetown University, Dr. Campbell went on to complete an Orthopedic Surgery Internship and Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. He next completed an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He served as an assistant team physician to the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, Villanova University, St. Joseph's University, and several high school athletic teams. Dr. Campbell is an experienced clinician who specializes in the treatment of shoulder, hip, and knee conditions. He is adamant about treating patients with evidence-based medicine. Most importantly he uses clear communication and compassion, so he and his patients can make a shared decision as to their best treatment option. During his career thus far, Dr. Campbell has authored and published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Campbell's passion is to promote a healthy and active lifestyle for all his patients. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, spending time beachside, and skiing.
