Biography: Dr. Gabriella Gutman is our Interventional Pain Management specialist. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal disorders with specialty training in non-surgical care of neck and back pain. Specifically, she performs minimally invasive fluoroscopic-guided spinal interventions, including epidural injections, selective nerve root blocks, peripheral nerve blocks, sympathetic blocks, radiofrequency denervation, neurolysis, spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as fellowship trained and board certified in Pain Medicine. Dr. Gutman holds medical licenses in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. She is an active member of several musculoskeletal and spinal intervention societies, and is a coauthor of medical articles and numerous book chapters on spine and pain- related disorders. Dr. Gutman completed her undergraduate studies at Brandeis University, where she graduated with honors and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Biology. She subsequently attended medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine, where she graduated at the top of her class. She then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital, in New York. Her profound interest in neurological and musculoskeletal disease brought her to Philadelphia, where she pursued residency training at a top tier residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital. She served as Chief Resident and Clinical Instructor in her final year. Her passion for treating spine disorders and for the field of pain medicine led her to pursue fellowship training in minimally invasive interventional spine procedures and pain medicine at Temple University Hospital. She trained under the mentorship of Dr. Frank J.E. Falco, a pioneer and leading expert in the field of interventional pain medicine.

Biography: Dr. Miller, a native of the Philadelphia suburbs, spent the majority of his childhood growing up in southern California before returning to Pennsylvania where he finished his high school years at Malvern Prep in Malvern, Pennsylvania. He played varsity soccer and competed in both trap and skeet shooting. He continued his education at Duke University where he majored in Economics, graduating with honors. Dr. Miller attended the Sidney Kimmel Medical College from 2009-2013. He was elected into the Hobart Amory Hare Medical Society for achieving high honors in pre-clinical education, the Samuel Gross Surgical Society for excellence in surgical clerkship, as well as the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Additionally, he served as president of his medical fraternity, Alpha Kappa Kappa. Upon completion of medical school, he completed his orthopedic residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he spent time training with both the Rothman Institute as well as the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center. Dr. Miller received numerous awards for research during his residency and was honored by the hand association with the best research paper award in 2018. Dr. Miller completed a Hand and Microvascular Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in 2018. He was awarded the Alice Jensen Hand Fellowship award during his time there. During both his residency and fellowship, he also spent time working on and patenting a wound care device and continued to be involved in entrepreneurial work in the healthcare field. Immediately after completion of his fellowship, he spent several weeks abroad in Central America and Europe studying under pioneers in the field of peripheral nerve and arthroscopy before returning to Philadelphia to join his former mentors and colleagues at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center. Dr. Miller's clinical and research interests include upper extremity trauma, brachial plexus and peripheral nerve repair, as well as wrist arthroscopy and wrist injury. Dr. Miller also enjoys donating his time and raising funds for medical mission trips in central and South America, where he has made numerous mission trips, a passion that he will remain involved with during his career. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Miller enjoys creative writing and playing competitive tennis and soccer. He is also an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

Biography: Dr. Raymond Ropiak grew up in Staten Island, New York, but has spent the last 10 years making the Delaware Valley his home. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Boston College before completing his medical school and Orthopedic Residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He then went on to do a Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson where his mentors included Dr. Gerald Williams, Dr. John Fenlin, Dr. Mark Lazarus, Dr. Barbara Frieman, Dr. Matthew Ramsey, and Dr. Charles Getz . Training in Philadelphia, Dr. Ropiak saw the number of people from New Jersey willing to travel into the city for Orthopedic care and wanted to bring that Shoulder and Elbow expertise to them. Dr. Ropiak specializes in Total Shoulder replacement as well as Reverse Shoulder Replacement. He is also trained in arthroscopic and open shoulder repair and stabilization, including rotator cuff repair, throwing injuries and fractures. In addition to shoulder ailments, Dr. Ropiak treats a variety of operative and non-operative elbow injuries. He is trained in total elbow arthroplasty, elbow arthroscopy, fracture repair, tennis elbow, and ligament reconstruction.
