Care Philosophy: Dr. Conway has been in the private practice of General Surgery for over 24 years, serving as a consultant to many primary care physicians and sub-specialists for evaluation and management of various surgical conditions over that time. He has also provided Emergency Room Surgical coverage for over 20 years, to help the people of our community with emergent surgical needs. He has recently focused his practice to just elective surgery in the Stone Oak and surrounding area.

Care Philosophy: Central Texas Colon and Rectal Surgeons is a single specialty practice of seven surgeons in three locations serving the greater Central Texas region. We specialize in the treatment of colon, rectal and anal disease, both common and rare. Typical patients present for: colon cancer screening including colonoscopy; early diagnosis and treatment of colon, recal and anal cancer; surgical management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (including Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease); Diverticulitis and benign anorectal disease (hemorrhoids, fissure, fistula, condyloma, abscess).

Care Philosophy: My philosophy towards my practice of surgery is very simple-treat others as I would want to be treated. In evaluating a patient my first priority is deciding whether an operation is necessary. If surgery is needed, I explain the procedure and recovery in straight forward terms. I always encourage questions; I feel the more someone understands about their healthcare, the better prepared they are for surgery and the recovery. Many procedures such as hernia repair, thyroid/parathyroid surgery, breast surgery and gallbladder surgery can now be preformed as an outpatient. Minimally invasive surgery is frequently an option and is preferred as long as it is just as safe as the more traditional surgical procedures. I strive for a quick recovery making my patients as comfortable as possible. No one wants to have surgery, but if it becomes necessary then care should be given as much empathy, safety and comfort as possible.
