Dr. Deal previously served in the 82nd Airborne Division and currently serves as Major in the United States Army Reserve. Dr. Deal has received the Outstanding Resident Physician Leader Award from the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Young Star Award from the Medical Society of Virginia. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of both the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Medical Society of Virginia. He holds a faculty appointment at MCV and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery. Dr. Deal is Chief of Surgery at Henrico Doctors' Hospital.
