I have a very laid-back demeanor but take my patients health and concerns very seriously. I have a philosophy of "lowest effective dose" when it comes to medications and treatments to make sure I am treating my patient's symptoms/concerns without causing unnecessary side effects that can sometimes be more dangerous than the original concern.

Biography: Dr. David DeBoer is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He co-founded Southern Joint Replacement Institute in 1999 along with Michael Christie, MD. Their goal was to create a practice that combined quality patient care with state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge research. Dr. DeBoer's medical education started and finished at Vanderbilt University, where he earned a medical doctorate and a master's degree in biomedical engineering. After finishing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Dr. DeBoer also completed a fellowship under Dr. Michael Christie at Vanderbilt. Dr. DeBoer is the Joint Replacement Research Program Director for Sarah Cannon Research Institute. His research focuses on improving the outcome of joint replacement surgery and the biomechanics of the hip and knee joints. He is currently the chairman of the Clinical Best Practice Committee on Joint Replacement Surgery for the 180 hospitals in the HCA Healthcare network. "We pride ourselves on treating our patients like family. When we do joint replacement surgery, those patients become our lifelong patients. We want to treat them just like we would want to be treated if we were lifelong patients. Our approach to patient care is like in the Bible treat others like you would want to be treated yourself."

Biography: Dr. Tiffany Feltman was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. She then went on to Vanderbilt University for her Biomedical Engineering degree. After college she moved to Atlanta for medical school. She then completed her Orthopedic Surgery residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. After successfully completing residency she went on to complete her fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. She is more than thrilled to come back to Nashville to join Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics and specialize in total hips and total knees. She enjoys changing her patients daily life and getting them back to where they can walk and enjoy daily activities without the pain from arthritis. She is an active member of the American Hip and Knee Society as well as American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons. In her spare time she enjoys football, being outside and around the water, and spending time with her husband, daughter and their three dogs. She looks forward to reaching out to the Nashville community.
