Biography: Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Andrew Parker was drawn to orthopaedics out of a desire to help people of all ages regain lost function and return to the activities or sports they enjoy. After earning a BS in Biology and Chemistry from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Dr. Parker returned to his hometown and graduated magna cum laude from medical school at the University of Louisville. He then moved to Chicago where he completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Northwestern University. Dr. Parker concluded his formal medical education by completing a fellowship in sports medicine at the Baylor Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas. Fascinated by the technical aspects of his specialty, Dr. Parker likes the challenges of the ever-changing field of orthopaedics. He especially enjoys the doctor-patient relationships that he has developed because he feels most orthopaedic patients are ``motivated and proactive about their recovery.`` As an active and respected participant in many professional medical organizations, Dr. Parker has delivered numerous presentations and educational seminars at orthopaedic conferences around the country. Currently, Dr. Parker serves as a team physician for the Washington Redskins. He also has significant experience in the area of sports medicine having cared for athletes from the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, and Northwestern University. Additionally, he served as team physician for DC United and he served as assistant team physician for the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, and the University of Houston while doing his fellowship.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Nguyen has a strong interest in preventive care with a focus on early detection of cancer, cardiovascular and thyroid diseases. Dr. Nguyen is dedicated to providing compassionate, high quality primary care through building long term relationships with his patients and their families. Outside of work, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and daughters. He is fluent in both English and Vietnamese and is committed to taking care of your entire family.

Care Philosophy: His goal is to offer the entire spectrum of treatment to patients to get them back to their active lifestyle. This includes physical therapy, bracing, injections, stem cell therapy, and surgery if all else fails. He specializes in joint preservation surgeries in athletes using the latest evidence-based techniques to improve outcomes and deter joint replacement surgery. If arthroplasty is required, he promotes same day joint replacement surgery for his patients to return to their active lifestyle as quick as possible.

Biography: Dr. Thomas Mazahery grew up in Northern Virginia and wanted to return to the area after his Fellowship to begin his orthopaedic practice. Dr. Mazahery graduated with a BA in Biology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He then completed a general surgery internship and an orthopaedic surgery residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, Dr. Mazahery completed a spine fellowship with the renowned surgeon Dr. Henry Bohlman at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. As a spine specialist, Dr. Mazahery enjoys helping his patients return to normal function and resume their active lifestyles. He is especially fascinated by degenerative spine conditions, cervical spine pathology, and research related to improving spine surgery and technology. Having participated in extensive training for cervical spine conditions, Dr. Mazahery's special interests also include motion sparing technology, minimally invasive techniques, deformity correction, microsurgery, and the operative and non-operative care of the entire spine. Active in many professional leadership roles, Dr. Mazahery has been the recipient of several research grants and has presented his research at national and international meetings. He is presently a participant in the AOA Emerging Leaders Program, a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. In his leisure time, Dr. Mazahery enjoys running. To date, he has completed five marathons.
