Care Philosophy: Navin Changoor, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with advanced fellowship training in colorectal surgery. He joined AdventHealth Medical Group from the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he completed his advanced subspecialty training in 2021. Prior to that, he was an award-winning general surgery intern and resident at Howard University in Washington, DC, and completed an elite, two-year post-doctoral research fellowship at Harvard University/Brigham and Women&rsquos Hospital in Boston. He earned his medical degree with honors in surgery at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. Dr. Changoor is proud to provide expert patient evaluations and care as part of our medical group&rsquos nationally respected colorectal surgery team in Central Florida.

Care Philosophy: Michele Malit, DO, is a board-certified general surgeon. After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Malit received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of New York Institute of Technology. She went on to complete a general surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center where she achieved the rank of Chief Resident, and a colorectal surgery fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Malit is an active community volunteer and has contributed her musical talents to hospital events and charitable fundraisers as the lead singer of a band made up of medical colleagues. She is fluent in English and Tagalog.

Care Philosophy: Norbert Garcia-Henriquez, MD is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon. His areas of expertise include the use of minimally invasive surgery in the management of colon and rectal cancer, including advanced laparoscopy and transanal surgery. He has a special interest in the management of complex inflammatory bowel disease and he is proficient in the treatment of all common and complex anorectal disorders, including hemorrhoids, fistula in ano, and perianal/perirectal abscesses.

Care Philosophy: Jeffrey C. Chiu, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with AdventHealth Medical Group in Orlando. He performs all types of general surgery procedures, with a special emphasis on minimally invasive approaches to breast, endocrine and gastrointestinal conditions. Dr. Chiu earned his medical degree at the Florida State University College of Medicine and undertook his general surgery residency at Florida Hospital (now AdventHealth) in Orlando, where he himself was born.

Biography: Radhika Smith, MD, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon specializing in treating patients with diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. Dr. Smith earned her medical degree at the University of Missouri and completed her residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then received fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. Dr. Smith is also dedicated to training the next generation of surgeons. She has served as an assistant professor of colon and rectal surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine and has received numerous teaching awards throughout her career. She has also served as an examiner and question writer for the colorectal surgery qualifying and certifying board examination.

Care Philosophy: Timothy Steve McElveen, MD, FACS, joined AdventHealth Medical Group from AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC, where he was a general surgeon for over 20 years and previously served as the hospital's Chief of Staff. He is a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned his undergraduate degree in biology and was a William Douglas Memorial Scholarship recipient while earning his medical degree at the USC School of Medicine. Dr. McElveen undertook his internship training at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta and his general surgery residency at Georgia Baptist and Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Virginia, respectively. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1997 and is a highly rated surgeon with outstanding patient reviews.
