Biography: Iris Trchez-Adekoya, MD, is a bilingual obstetrician-gynecologist providing OB/GYN care with DonnaSana ObGyn, in Houston, Texas. Dr. Trchez-Adekoya is a Honduran native who moved to the United States for college in 2007 to commence her journey to becoming a physician. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in chemistry at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She then attended LSUHSC- Shreveport where she received her Medical Degree. After medical school, she was awarded an opportunity to complete her OBGYN residency training at the University of South Alabama Children's and Women's Teaching Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. Her deep appreciation for the South, combined with a desire to practice in a culturally diverse area, led her to Houston. She has been practicing in Houston for the past four years and has developed a strong bond and connection to the city and its people.Dr. Trchez-Adekoya's focus lies in the management and delivery of pregnancy, women's preventive care and management of acute and chronic issues, including vaginal discharge, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), ovarian cysts, menopause and osteoporosis.
