Great Surgeon
Had surgery with Dr. Muir in 2020 and it went great! She is very professional, caring and an excellent surgeon. She literally wrote the book on these surgeries and was clear and thorough in her discussions with me. Nothing was dismissed and she got to the problem quickly and fixed it giving me my life back. She's wonderful.

My mid-urethral sling was placed incorrectly, causing me to need a second surgery (done by a different surgeon) due to it causing extreme urinary retention. She and her staff were extremely dismissive of my concerns and refused to check if anything was wrong. It could have been corrected in office instead of in the OR if they had listened to me when I first told them something wasn't right. My rectocele was also back before three months post-op, even though I was extremely cautious to avoid any heavy lifting, constipation, etc. Overall, my quality of life is now worse than before I sought treatment. Please choose a different doctor.

I had an anterior and posterior repair with a sacral ligament lift performed by Dr. Muir in 2018. I am still doing well and am so grateful to her and her caring staff. As soon as I recovered from my surgery, I was able to resume my very active lifestyle and have continued to do so. I found Dr. Muir to be very competent, kind, compassionate, and easy to communicate with as well. I feel very blessed to be in her care.

It's been over 7 year since Dr. Tristi Muir changed my life for the better by performing retropubic urethral sling surgery on me. For over 15 years my bladder control deteriorated to the point of embarrassment. To keep from having constant leakage I limited my fluid intake which led to recurring constipation and possible future kidney problems. Immediately upon waking from surgery I had complete control. I had no pain or UTIs in the years that followed because she instructed me on how to completely empty my bladder at every urination so there was no build up to cause infections. I no longer suffer from leakage when I sneeze, cough, exercise or lift things such as groceries and grand babies. I can wear slacks that fit nice and don't show an unsightly bulge from a hugh pad. I am free to travel without needing to pack half a suitcase with incontinent pads or put a plastic sheet under the hotel or cruise line bed sheets. She has literally changed my future for the better.

Dr. Muir is a wolf in Sheep’s clothes. 6 weeks after doing major surgery on me she became upset and quit. I still had stitches and was on narcotics. I was told to go to the emergency room if I had issues or to have stitches addressed and that I would not be allowed to see any Methodist Gynecologist. Extremely unprofessional, and once you are off the operating table she abandons you.

I was referred to Dr. Muir with a prolapse. Her P.A. spent a lot of time regarding my medical history and explained what would happen during the exam. Dr. Muir failed to understand what I was there to be examined for. I had been to my regular OBGYN, the emergency room, prior.I was also experiencing pain, which Dr. Muir quickly ruled out a prolapse as they are not painful and sent me for four months of therapy. Today I was diagnosed with a grade 2 prolapse which will need surgical repair.

DisappointedPatient in Houston – Dec 13, 2018
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Muir?
My honest review as a former patient. Site specific defect was not fixed and prolapse remained after the surgery. The “repairs” had to be redone by fixing lateral defect, which solved the problem . Left large amount of extra tissue that was not needed and had to be cut off by a different surgeon. Failed to fix a lot of areas. If I had known I would have travelled to a different surgeon even out of state because the surgery and recovery were painful and did not help.

Dr. Muir takes her time explaining, in terms that are understandable, what is wrong with me and options to fix it. I had surgery done by Dr. Muir in 2015 and the results were exceptional. I have referred friends who have had similar problems. They saw Dr. Muir and had the same excellent results. She is extremely kind and soft spoken. I would recommend her to any of my friends and family.

Long wait times for appointments and in office. Doctorow pleasant but isn't too interactive. Doesn't offer suggestions for complex problems

I had surgery with Dr Tristi Muir in December 2013 and it was the best decision I ever made. She was awesome, explained everything in detail and showed real compassion for me. She gave me time to ask questions and review all my options. She made me feel so comfortable and I knew I was in the best possible hands. Recovery was excellent and I was able to be up and about in no time. Her staff were readily available if I had any concerns or questions.

I became a patient in Jan 2016 had surgery Feb 2016 and have problems with incontinence ever since.(didn't have incontinence before surgery) Very unconcerned attitude from the Dr and her staff. Was not advised that this was a possible side effect. I fact I opted for the sling being told it would prevent this problem. Overall I'm am very unhappy with Dr Muir and her staff.
