Biography: Andrew P. Keaveny, M.D., is a transplant hepatologist and the medical director of the Mayo Clinic Florida Liver Transplant program. His clinical focus includes: Assessment and management of patients with cirrhosis Management of the liver transplant recipient Application of noninvasive testing of liver fibrosis Treatment of viral hepatitis In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Keaveny collaborates with the multidisciplinary liver transplant team in developing treatment pathways and policies that provide optimal patient care. Dr. Keaveny is passionate about postgraduate medical education " he is very active in the education of residents and fellows and has won several teaching awards for his contributions and mentorship. Dr. Keaveny is active in clinical research, focusing on novel therapies in portal hypertension, complications of cirrhosis and outcomes after liver transplantation. He has written numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, edited a book on complications of cirrhosis and is on several editorial boards. He is a member of the major professional societies that focus on liver disease and has served on several committees of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. Biography: Dr. Francis is involved with clinical research on the topics of eosinophilic esophagitis, esophageal motility disorders and treatment of Barrett's esophagus. She also is actively involved with the study and implementation of Quality Assurance in the delivery of health-care. Dr. Francis has a Federal appointment on the Advisory Panel for APC Groupings for CMS. She also sits on the Clinical Practice Management and Quality Oversight Committee for the American Gastroenterology Association.
