Dr. Alpa Patel, MD

I had had a stroke several years previous to my appointment with Dr. Patel. I have a service animal. I went in to my appointment and while I was being checked in, I told them I had a service animal in the car with my husband. Without telling her what type of animal I had, she replied that she was allergic. Allergic to what?… Dogs, cats, birds, etc. she had no idea what type of animal I had but still stated that she was allergic. Since I can’t leave the animal at home alone, my husband was in the car with the pup. She would not allow my husband to come inside with the animal due to her “allergies “. So I asked if I could record our appointment due to my short term memory loss. Her reply was also “no “. That made me angry. What does she have to hide? I left immediately and suggest if you have any disabilities that you need assistance with that she is not the doctor for you. I am considering reporting her to ADA.

Miss diagnosed me and overmedicated me, no time to listen and explain. Very rude and inpatient. The worst primary care doctor in Jacksonville area.

Dr. Patel has been my PCP for many years. She has always been very knowledgeable and caring. I highly recommend her.

Had her for years. Was misdiagnosed with spinal injuries, and their office staff never wanted to address the concerns. Never spends no more than 5 minutes or less with her patient. I thought it was just me, sent other friends and family and they told me the same thing. Ended up with her PA was more patient and helpful. Still never addressing the issue. Still a much etter jo and showed care more than Dr. Patel.
