Biography: Dr. Robert J. Strauch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems in adults and children. He has a special interest in nerve problems of the upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome, and in treating congenital hand disorders. The specialty of hand surgery melds together elements and principles of orthopedic, plastic, neurological and vascular surgery to restore and maximize hand and upper extremity function, whether wielding a jackhammer, throwing a baseball, or playing the violin. Dr. Strauch has authored and co-authored numerous articles in the field of hand surgery and is actively engaged in basic and clinical research. He served as President of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2006-2007. Biography: Evan P. Trupia, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. Dr. Trupia is an expert in advanced operative and non-operative care for issues of the hand and upper extremity, utilizing the latest surgical techniques, including minimally invasive arthroscopy and modern methods to reconstruct or replace arthritic joints. He also cares for fractures and general orthopedic trauma of the upper and lower extremities. After receiving a BS in Biology from Loyola University, Dr. Trupia graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Columbia University Medical Center and his fellowship in surgery of the hand and upper extremity at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases. As an artist and former collegiate athlete, Dr. Trupia appreciates that seemingly minor orthopedic injuries can have a tremendous impact on a patient's ability to perform activities of daily life, occupation, and recreation. He therefore individualizes his treatment plans for each patient to maximize function, alleviate pain, and ultimately improve their quality of life. As an active clinician scientist, Dr. Trupia has a particular interest in developing novel techniques to improve outcomes after upper extremity trauma. His research has been published in several medical journals, including Techniques in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and Hand. Dr. Trupia delivers lectures to local and national audiences, including the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and his medical illustrations have been published in numerous scientific texts and journals.

Biography: Susanne M. Roberts, MD, FAAOS is a board certified orthopedic handsurgeon specializing in operative and non-operative treatment of acute andchronic hand and upper extremity conditions. Dr. Roberts treats bothadult and pediatric patients. She has a special interest and experience in thecare of athletes and sports-related hand and wrist injuries. She is alsotrained in microsurgery and nerve repair. Dr. Roberts completed her medical education at Pennsylvania StateUniversity College of Medicine where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alphahonor society. After medical school, Dr. Roberts completed her residencytraining at the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency Program, serving as ChiefResident at Massachusetts General Hospital during her final year. Her residencytraining was followed by a fellowship in hand surgery at the Hospital forSpecial Surgery. Dr. Roberts has also obtained her subspecialtycertificate in surgery of the hand (CAQ). As an active member of the academic orthopedic community, Dr.Roberts is the recipient of numerous awards and research grants. She has beeninvited to give clinical practice and research related lectures both locallyand nationally. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles andbook chapters, and is an active member of the American Society for Surgery ofthe Hand.
