Biography: Vilok Vijayanagar, DO, is a general surgeon specializing in robotic and minimally invasive surgery at TriCities Surgical Associates in Colonial Heights, Virginia. He holds surgical privileges at TriCities Hospital and additional privileges at Chippenham and Johnston-Willis Hospitals. Dr. Vijayanagar is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and fulfilled his general surgery residency with Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital located in Detroit, MI. After residency, he completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Vijayanagar also earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he graduated with highest honors.His interests are in all aspects of general surgery including: gastrointestinal, hernia, oncological, breast and soft tissue surgery with a predominantly minimally invasive focus. Biography: Barton Smith, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon with TriCities Surgical Associates in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Virginia for both his undergraduate and medical degrees in 1978 and 1982, respectively. He completed his internship at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, in 1983, and his residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., in 1988, upon which time he returned to Central Virginia. Dr. Smith has been caring for patients in the TriCities community and working in partnership with Dr. Rayudu Jujjavarapu since 1988. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Smith is committed to providing exceptional care and service to his patients, and is welcoming new patients and referrals. He performs surgeries at TriCities Hospital.
