Biography: Dr. Kesl is one of the few fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeons in the Kansas City area. That means if you're critically injured in an accident and have several broken bones, he's the doctor who may be called in to help put you back together. During his fellowship with Wellspan York Hospital, York, Pa., he developed special expertise in the repair of complex long bone fractures, periarticular fractures, pelvic fractures, non-union of fractures, including grafting procedures, other complex trauma-related fractures, and general orthopedics. Dr. Kesl joined OSI following completion of his fellowship. He performed his residency in orthopedic surgery with OSI at St. Mary's Medical Center, Blue Springs, Mo. Care Philosophy: Growing up in the Kansas City area, I am excited to return to the region after training at some of the top centers of orthopedic education in the nation to provide excellence in the care of sports medicine knee, shoulder, and foot/ankle injuries. I am passionate about providing the same high level of care that I received as a patient/athlete during my high school and collegiate career. My primary objective as a clinician is to understand the desires of each patient regarding their respective injury/condition and hope for return to function, and to employ what I have learned to best achieve that goal.
