Biography: Eric Swisher, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology with LewisGale Physicians in Salem, Virginia. Dr. Swisher earned his Medical Doctorate at the Medical College of Virginia and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Prior to medical school, he attended University of Virginia and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Dr. Swisher is a veteran of the United States Army's 212th Mobile Army Surgical Unit, a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is also certified in minimally invasive gynecological surgery by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Swisher is considered an expert in pregnancy care, childbirth, and in treating a wide range of gynecological conditions. He is highly skilled in performing minimally invasive surgery for the treatment of endometriosis, fibroids, and abnormal uterine bleeding. In addition to his practice, Dr. Swisher has served as an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia, University of Virginia School of Medicine, and the Carilion Virginia Tech School of Medicine.Among his numerous military and civilian honors, Dr. Swisher has twice received a Top Doc award from Roanoker Magazine, was named Jefferson College of Health Sciences Preceptor of the Year, and won the Carilion Provider Excellence Award.

Biography: Harris M. Wexler, DO, is an Ob/Gyn in Salem, Virginia. He joins the physician practice of LewisGale Physicians Salem Ob/Gyn and the active medical staff of LewisGale Medical Center.Dr. Wexler earned his medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. He continued his education with his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC. While a resident, Dr. Wexler received the AAGL Surgical Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology award and the Top Resident for Medical Student Teaching honor for completing the most teaching topics for Ob/Gyn medical students.Dr. Wexler is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). He has special interests in minimally invasive surgery, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, vaginal surgery, and robotics. In his spare time, Dr. Wexler enjoys fly fishing, kayaking, and playing the acoustic guitar.Dr. Wexler is welcoming new patients.
