Biography: Dr. Zand is a native Texan that was born in Houston Texas. After attending high school in the Spring, Texas, Dr. Zand attended the University of Houston where he graduated Manga Cum Laude with dual degrees that consists of Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. He went on to attain his Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) degree from University of Texas Medical Branch school of medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the same intuition. During residency, he received numerous awards from his residency program and professional organizations with his high achievement being nominate and presented with Outstanding Overall Resident of the Year at UTMB. After residency, Dr. Zand returned to Houston where completed his fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the renowned Houston Methodist Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College in the Texas Medical Center, ranked among the Top 20 programs by the U.S News and World Report Honor Roll. During his fellowship, Dr. Zand also had the opportunity to trained at Texas Children's Hospital and UT MD Anderson Cancer Center as well. Dr. Zand loves to spend time with his wife Sara, and his two children, Layla and Ariyan. On his spare time, Dr. Zand loves to visit the Museum of Natural Science, Museum of Fine Arts, and various other intuitions. Dr. Zand is involved in the Houston community by his direct involvement with his undergrad Fraternity of Alpha Psi Lambda and keeping in touch with members of the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity – Zeta Chapter in Galveston. He is also an avid music fan that enjoys going to multiple concerts throughout the year and love to attend the Houston Rodeo.
