Biography: Dr. Maggio started Renewal Dermatology & MedSpa in the summer of 2012, having recently retired from a career in military medicine spanning three decades. He served as a faculty researcher and physician in the country's third largest dermatology residency training program for 15 of those years. He loves to teach and learn. Colonel Maggio is a combat veteran who has practiced dermatology all over the world but regards Virginia as his home, where he met his wife 25 years ago. They raised their five children in the Commonwealth. He enjoys running, hiking, swimming and gardening.Dr. Maggio specializes in the surgical treatment of skin cancer, as he is both fellowship trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and board certified in Dermatology. He also has advanced training in laser and cosmetic dermatology, especially facial rejuvenation.
