Biography: Dr. Hartzell received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, completed her psychiatry residency at Emory University School of Medicine, and completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training Program of Columbia and Weill Cornell Medicine She then completed an additional two year fellowship in maternal-infant psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicinewith a focus on early child development, postpartum mental health, and the needs of families of medically sick or premature infants. During this timeshe conducted research on the mental health of mothers of infants neonatal intensive care unit and provided psychiatric care to young children and parents of infants. Biography: Barbara L. Milrod, MD is an expert in psychotherapeutic treatment of patients with anxiety disorders, particularly in the areas of panic disorder and conversion disorder, both in adults and children. After receiving her medical degree from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Milrod completed her residency in General Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Payne Whitney Clinic in Manhattan. For the next 6 years, she held positions as an Instructor and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and received her psychoanalytic training at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. She is currently on the faculty of both the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, and the Columbia Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. She joined the Weill Cornell Medical College in 1996 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted in 2007 to Professor of Psychiatry. Biography: Dr. Anna Miari trained in neurology and completed a post-doctoral degree in neuro-psychopharmacology at Mario Negri Institute in Milan. Biography: Dr. Jonathan Avery is the Vice Chair for Addiction Psychiatry, theStephen P. Tobin and Dr. Arnold M. Cooper Associate Professor in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and the Program Director for the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship.Dr. Jonathan Avery is a graduate of the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Payne Whitney Clinic. During residency, he was selected as a Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry Fellow and won several awards for his clinical and academic work. He was co-chief resident in his final year of training. Biography: Dr. Vena Budhan received her PhD in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University with an emphasis in clinical neuroscience and women's health through a consortium program with Stanford University School of Medicine. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Dr. Budhan obtained a master's degree in psychology from The New School for Social Research and designed and launched a resource center with a focus on increasing awareness and access to behavioral health care.Dr. Budhan completed her doctoral internship at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West Hospitals and her doctoral externships at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the Stanford Center for Neuroscience in Women's Health. Biography: Dr. Heather Goodman is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Goodman graduated from Brown University with a degree in Comparative Literature. After beginning a career in book publishing, she realized that she wanted to become a physician. She went on to receive her M.D. at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed residency training in adult psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine. Her interest in working with children, adolescents and their families led her to pursue a fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital's combined program of Columbia and Cornell Universities. She is board certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Goodman has been recognized for her dedication to patient-centered care. At the conclusion of her fellowship, she received the Edward J. Sachar award for clinical excellence in child psychiatry.
