Dr. Nancy Olsen, MD

I have a rare autoimmune condition. Dr. Olsen is very determined that I get the medical treatment that I need and has advocated for me with my insurance after they denied the request for treatment. She has listened to me and offered many suggestions. Because of the nature of my condition, there are not many options for treatment, but I know Dr. Olsen will continue to search out the best options for me. She is kind, caring and always responds to email or phone calls promptly (most times the same day).

Dr. Olsen is on like any rheumatologist I have ever seen before. Besides being kind caring concerned she goes above and beyond as a doctor. I am a very complicated case a very complex case I have worked in the medical field for 20 years so I thought I’ve seen it all and heard it all. I’ve been battling this autoimmune disease since I’m a teenager undiagnosable by every rheumatologist where I live. I fought to get down to Hershey to see Dr. Olsen for her expertise although I am still technically undiagnosed a year treating with Dr., we’ve ruled out other auto immune diseases in the process. Whenever I have a question or concern, I can always email her and she is prompt to get back to me that day. There are times when she even gets back to me on the weekends when I email not every doctor does that. We may have bumped heads in the beginning to do too communication issues and medical views, but that has since changed, and I know that she wants the best for me and my health.

I wouldn't go to see her again even if I was dying. I was her patient for a short while before moving and she was the most unhelpful doctor I have ever had. As soon as she heard that I had PTSD she assumed all of my symptoms were a manifestation of that - it is in her notes (my previous rheumatologist did not). She would not listen to what I would tell her and she was very cocky during the appointments.
