Do NOT choose Dr. Michelle Sang.
Given her belief that she knows way more than you about how you and your body are feeling, she does not listen to the patient. Her bedside manner is horrific. She never makes eye contact, instead she types frantically the entire visit. Be prepared to read a novel about every possible supplement that is in the slightest way related to what she believes your issues are. Although, any possible explanation will not be discussed with the patient. You are expected to read the novel and tease out information that might be relevant. She also claims to be a total care doctor. I assure you nothing about her care confirms such a bold statement. Look elsewhere.

Please pick another doctor
I would run from this clinic and this Dr. My daughter went to this clinic and her provider knew she had not been on birth control and had been sexually actively. Yet, they did not test to see if she was pregnant. Instead they insisted she get a copper IUD because of my daughters concern for hormones. Michele Sang did not listen to her and insisted she get an IUD. She attempted to place it and had to redo it. My daughter left feeling unheard and in so much pain. Her pain increased over the next two hours. My daughter called and sent messages to get a call back from the Dr or clinic. No one called. I ended up taking her to the ER. While waiting to be seen she finally got a message but it was from the medical assistant with a response in her chart messages saying “it was a moot point”. No calls or messages from the doctor. The IUD was removed by a very loving and caring Doctor who was surprised how my daughter was treated and that no pregnancy test was given.

Pushes expensive supplements and pseudo-science
Was upset with the entire interaction. Was spoken to like I was dumb, no eye contact, rushed, left me laying down in the stirrups after exam while she went and sat in a chair and talked, and finally said 'oh, you can get down.' Gave me recommendations for over $200 a months worth of supplements that she gets a cut of (is that ethical...or legal?) and told me I should start eating a specific doctor's diet, who I later researched and he is considered pseudo-scientific. After visit notes were full of panic assessments of normal test results (my mom and sister are nurses and I ran the results by them). The whole thing is scary and unprofessional. Honestly, pretty shocked she is still in practice.

Stood up twice
Telehealth
This doctor stood me up twice - once in person (doctor did not show up after 30 minutes) and again via telehealth (doctor did not show up after 20 minutes). Both times I got tired of waiting and left. No wonder other reviewers complain that their appointments feel rushed! I want my health concerns to receive the time and attention that they deserve. I understand that sometimes doctors run behind schedule. However, I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes with ANY other provider. 20 to 30 minutes (without even so much as a courtesy call from the front desk) is completely unacceptable!

Absolutely not.
I can only hope others will see this review and save themselves from a dehumanizing experience. Sang’s bedside manor is problematic. She demonstrates weight bias, was condescending, curt and does not practice with trauma informed lens. No explanations were offered or education on risks/benefits of surgical procedures. When I asked questions, I was met with a contemptuous attitude. I couldn’t fathom putting my body in her “care” and decided to hire a different provider.

My experience with Dr. Sang was excellent. She immediately recognized a simple hormone problem that was causing me catastrophic distress, but that two gynecologists, two naturopaths and three internal medicine docs could not figure out or treat. I am indebted to her and a loyal fan.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Sang?
Dr Sang was aloof and condescending during my many appointments with her. We experienced perinatal death of my daughter, and it felt like her trauma and grief responses were not just lacking in compassion, but triggering. She was unaware of our daughters death and asked how she was doing with a big smile on her face. She had been made aware of her death in advance via paperwork which she didn’t read, and is now a distinctive piece of my medical history. I feel ptsd and child loss are common enough for women that an obgyn should have proper trauma training. That aside, the interactions in her office were hurried and difficult. It was such an opposite experience then I have had with my past doctors, let alone the midwives who took time to follow up with me after our life changing loss. Dr Sang was smug, and rushed despite having been told my incredibly difficult story of child birth to her, she had no visible compassion, nor awareness of vaginal trauma or PTSD in her area of study.
