My visit was for an eye infection, I’d never seen him before as I haven’t lived here very long. As I read the other reviews I’m thinking I must have seen his evil twin. My visit and exam was awful. His explanation of my ailment made no sense! I’m a retired RN so somewhat educated but I couldn’t understand his explanation. Maybe he was having a bad day, maybe he was hungover, whatever it was he just seemed clueless! I have decided I’ll see someone else in the future, I really didn’t trust him at all. He gave me a prescription for eyedrops and when I read the instructions, they were incomplete! Dosage but no timeframe! 1 drop 3x’s per day but for ? 5 days? 7 days? I had to call the pharmacy for verification, they told me the timeframe but it was not included in the original script! Clueless! And scary!

I checked out Dr. Ivens and read all the reviews beforehand. The only drawback I saw was patients complaining about long waits. I decided to go with him because of his qualifications and expertise. I am now glad that I did! I had cataract surgery on both my eyes, and both were very successful! Of all my waiting time in the waiting room, twenty minutes was the longest on 'one' occasion. Most of the time, only five to ten minutes. I highly recommend Dr. Ivens, and now enjoy my 20/20 vision.
