Dr. Joyce O'Shaughnessy, MD

I am a few years out from a stage three breast cancer diagnosis. Dr. O’Shaughnessy and her team not only want me to live but to have a good quality of life. I am in my upper sixties and I am always treated like I am still a special person with a meaningful life. No matter what my new concerns may be , and I feel like a have a list sometimes, they are thoughtfully addressed with an action plan. I am never left to “just deal with it” . Someone asked me if I trusted my doctor, which as a Registered Nurse for 44 years I don’t always do, but my answer is yes. I don’t only trust Dr. O’Shaughnessy but the PA and the NPs I have seen that are part of her staff. That says quite a bit coming from me.

Dr. O’Shaughnessy is such a positive compassionate presence in a situation that is stressful . I sincerely can’t think of a thing that would improve an interaction with Dr. O’Shaughnessy.

Engaged with me. Not just reading a checklist off the computer. Gave me excellent referrals to practitioners in other fields.

Dr. O’Shaughnessy knows exactly how to treat the issues I have with my breast cancer that has metastasized to my bones. She is very conversant with the available drugs and chooses what will work best in my case. She is willing to take time to answer questions and explain side effects of the drugs I take. She and all her staff, including Marisa, Louise, Belinda, Sandra, Elizabeth, and others, are kind and caring.

It was my annual follow-up visit.

Dr. O'Shaughnessy is perhaps the finest doctor we have ever seen for cancer treatment. She is careful, methodical, extremely knowledgeable, and cares so very much for both dealing with the cancer, and keeping the patient informed, and comfortable. When confronted with a treatment that is failing, of causing distress to the patient, she changes course to find a new path. She is truly an outstanding doctor.

Dr. O. Is so smart, a good listener, a good analyst, patient, so caring, so prepared to bring healing to her clients. She is positive and honest and real. I am blessed to have my health in her hands.

Dr. Joyce O'Shaughnessy and her team shine like bright stars each time I visit. When my cancer metastasized I was a little sad at the thought of not getting to see her much any longer. I was blissfully wrong in that assumption and now my heart would be very heavy if she wasn't my oncologist. Not even a crack is missed in my treatment and all the tests she has found necessary have been. I strongly suggest utilizing Dr. O'Shaugnessy and her team to anyone!
