Went for initial consult for shoulder pain, waiting for MRI to be approved

I now need my other shoulder replaced. I have no hesitation to have Dr. Stefko perform the replacement.

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Stefko for an aching elbow to which I injured during swimming with my Grandson’s. Dr. Stefko reviewed all of my test results and spent quality time with me to make sure I understood my injury, along with my treatment options. I also received a follow up appointment to make sure all is doing well. He is very professional, knowledgeable, polite and considerate. I also received surgery for a problem shoulder years ago. I have no issues with my shoulder. I chose to receive top quality care again by Dr. Stefko. I highly recommend Dr. Stefko for Orthopedic care. Thank You, Dr. Stefko lll

Dr. Stefko is the only provider our family would choose. His staff was professional and explains things very well.

Caring demeanor Dr. Stefko always displays towards me and my concerns. I have been coming to him for several years and he has always shown compassion with knowledge and support.

I chose YOA because my father spoke positively of his experience with Dr. Stefko and the staff there. Dr. Stefko was great! He clearly explained my injury and made it clear that without surgery it would not heal. Unfortunately, my experience has not been as positive with all of his staff.When I went to get measured and fitted for the sling The person responsible for doing the fitting came out and just handed me a sling. No measuring at all. So it is too short. Was I offered to be properly fitted for a sling...NO. My recovery for the next month or so means my arm should be immobilized 24 - 7 unless I am showering, so there should be a part of the sling that immobilizes my arm so that I do not undo the surgeon's work. I don't have that part and it was not mentioned or offered. Would I recommend YOA to someone.....maybe but with a warning.

His reputation as a great Orthopedist!Very personable . Explains what his findings are in a way that you understand. Also has an excellent Resident on staff. So nice, friendly and also explains the situation well.

Dr. Stefko took the time to make sure that I really understood the pros and cons of my surgery decision and then performed it with excellence!

Since I was referred, I expected a great experience. What stood out was the professional and caring attitude.

He really dives into a problem to find the answer. Dr Stefko has an absolutely amazing.

Shoulder surgery It's like brand new.....

I had my left rotator cuff done in June 2015 and right one done January 2019.. I have full range of motion in both... I would highly recommend Dr Stefko and also Kristin who did my physical therapy for both shoulders... you are making a wise decision if you choose Youngstown Orthopedic!!! I could not be happier with the results!!!

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Dr, Stefko doesn't do what he promises and his scheduling staff really doesn't care when you get in. There is no communication between Dr. Stefko and his therapy department and/or scheduling. The front girls are terrific but that is all that is good. Drs need to see that if their staff is not good and caring, then why should anyone go there. I am now going to Cleveland. I take an infusion and he understood that the surgery could only be done in at a certain time. He told me when to come back and no problem with scheduling. Well, I did that and now the girl doing the scheduling says that he is full for the month of March and she really didn't care. Told me she would call me on Friday after trying to get me in. Never called, went back Monday and she hadn't done a thing. I can't have it done anytime else due to possible infections. He should have never promised me and wasted my time. Now I have to start all over. Look somewhere else. Don't waste your time

I personally had shoulder surgery by Dr. Stefko. The results were outstanding. I would highly recommend him to everyone.

Dr.Stefko is a very caring,compassionate,knowledgeable doctor. He brought me back to a full recovery. He is number one in my opinion.

Dr Joseph Stefko is an excellent orthopod who is extremely conscientious,caring,and is a very knowledgeable practioner. My husband had a rotator cuff repair with excellent results He was able go back to golfing and resume all his previous activities. Went to Stefko in May for a torn Acl. Told me i just tore my acl and my meniscus was fine and to live without and acl, even tho I play Football, Ski, and ride motocross. Did his physical therapy for 2 months and it did not help at all, made it worse as my knee would not stay in place. Went to Cleveland Clinic Sports after Stefko made the decision not to do surgery on me on August 16th. Sept 26th I had surgery by Dr. Spindler and was walking with less pain then the past 3 months in 7 days.

Dr. Stefko is all about the best for his patients, straight talking and very skilled surgeon. Dr. Stefko resored movement in my rotator cuff surgery which was a 9 out of a worst case 10. The recovery was not rushed and on the safe side to promote complete healing. The surgury was nearly a year ago and I am doing fine, exercising and streching my shoulder and nearly back to normal, active lifestyle.
