Dr. Joel Solomon, MD

My mother has been a patient of Dr. Solomon for about 7 years and he is thorough and personable. I have had no issues with scheduling and his staff is professional and courteous. I appreciate that he takes the time to explain issues that concern my mother thoroughly and give her excellent care.

I've had Dr. Solomon as my ophthalmologist for almost a decade now. Visits are prompt and efficient, and he'll actually take the time to answer each of your questions. I'm not really sure how to explain the negative reviews below. I would be the first one to complain about bad medical advice or a sour bedside manner, but my experience with Dr. Solomon has always been fine. (This extends to the office staff, by the way. On my last visit they patiently walked me through some needlessly confusing nonsense related to an insurance issue.)

Dr. Solomon is a great doctor! Always respectful, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Always answers all my questions and concerns. Easy to get appointments and office never overcrowded. Staff always pleasant and respectful. I totally recommend this doctor.

Negative attitude. Immediately jumps to conclusion. Doesn’t work through the issue. Makes you feel like you can’t ask questions or even ask for clarification. Overall tone of the office is rude, clearly set from the top. Not going back.

Knowledgeable enough but seemed to have zero interest or concern in you as a patient. Flat affect and disinterested. I wouldn't go back.

I had eye issues that did not have a single perfect solution, but depended on weighing risks and benefits of the options. Dr. Solomon was my partner in decision making. He provided detailed information and made sure that I completely understood all of the information. The decision was clearly mine, but he helped me make the best decision for me. I decided on surgery and am thrilled with the results. Perfect results, better than expected, improved vision. He doesn't sugarcoat. Straight talk.
