Dr. Benjamin Chang, MD

First of all I have to say that my procedure was successful and I am able to see clearly. Unfortunately the process was horrific. I was told to come to northwell Syosset ambulatory surgicenter at 10:45AM. I did get there at 10:30. By 11:15 I asked the front desk about my status. They were not transparent and said that I was scheduled for 12. At 12:20 they made an announcement that Dr. Chang was still in Garden City At 1:30 I was still sitting in the waiting room for a 5min procedure. A nurse did come out and told me it would be another hour. I had nothing to eat or drink since early morning. My blood pressure was extremely high and I was anxious to begin with about the procedure. Finally when dr. Chang brought me into the treatment room he said nothing about the delay. He did not apologize or give me a reason why I was sitting in the waiting room for three and a half hours! If he gave me that courtesy and respect I would not be so angry. I do not recommend him at all!

The doctor barely spoke to me or even looked at me. He spoke more to the person taking notes. The visit with him lasted about 2 minutes and I wasn't even sure when it was over. I didn't understand what the conclusion of the annual tests were and he didn't even test me when I said that I had headaches when I read. It was the worst experience I had a with a doctor. His bedside manner was also completely lacking. Find another doctor.

Dr. Chang provides medical excellence, professionalism and courtesy to all his patients. He will answer all your concerns about eye health.

Dr. Chang performed Lasik on both my eyes 20 years ago. Initially I was nervous, so only did one! Never a problem, such a caring and competent Doctor! Thanks Dr. Chang!

I am very grateful that Dr Chang took care of my husband who was suffering from double vision. It was an emergency situation and Dr Chang acted with great compassion and professional excellence. Highly recommended.

Absolutely in and out with my husband and myself in 5 minutes.Did not take any time with us, never explained anything to us, forgot to give me my new prescription. I asked him why my eyes weren't dilated for a more comprehensive exam, & he stated he only does that if he thinks there's pathology. Well, how would he know if there was or was not pathology without dilitation??? I am an RN, and surely know much benter. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone, therefore his Stahl group.

Dr. Chang made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions without talking over me. He has a warm personality

Dr. Chang is very considerate and cares about your health and eyes. He looks over your cart and talks about other medical issues that can affect your eye health.

Dr. Chang is an excellent doctor. He is patient and extremely knowledgeable. I was nervous prior to my lasek procedure and Dr. Chang helped me throughout. He performed the surgery masterfully. My vision is excellent now and I feel that lasek was a life changing opportunity. He is very trustworthy and I recommend him to all of my friends.

My experience with Dr Changvwad very unprofessional. I was kept waiting for over an hour without a word of apology from anyone in the garden city office. I ultimately walked out of the office without getting seen by dr Chang and to date have not heard from anyone in that office with an explanation OR an apology. I think dr Chang is very unprofessional in his handling of patients.
