Received Gamma Knife surgery from Dr. McInerney, for Trigeminal Neuralgia. Said it was “Gold Standard “. Issues@procedure, anesthetic didn’t work. Felt him drill 4 screws into my head, gave no options for relief. Least of problems. Less than 6 months later, 1/2 my face was paralyzed, drooping, numb & painful, as if I had a stroke. Totally stopped my life as I knew it. Dr. McInerney claimed doubtful b/c of procedure. Never happened to him prior. Offered no solutions nor help. Assoc. in same Dept. confirmed, absolutely from procedure, & irreversible. Third opinion, @ University of Pennsylvania Hosp. (HUP), Chair of Dept., respected NeuroSurgeon, knew Dr. McInerney, also confirmed it was 100% due to Gamma Knife, & irreversible. JHU, confirmed same. A decade later, have tried every possibility to assist in relief & getting life back, to no avail. Dr. McInerney needed to own what occurred & try to help. Instead he walked away. Offering nothing. HUGE EGO! Disgrace! Pathetic!

Love him and his staff. They have worked tirelessly since I had my DBS Surgery. Can’t say enough good things about my still ongoing issues. Would trust him with any neurosurgery ??

I have had Dr. McInerney for two surgeries. He is very caring, and answers any questions you may have. He is very thorough in explaining all options and possible side effects. I would highly recommend him as a neurosurgeon.

I was referred to Dr. McInerney from another neurosurgeon at Penn State. My experience was absolutely horrible and ridiculous! I called for a week straight trying to get a hold of him(or anybody) to get information about my follow up appointment. That never happened so, I even went into the office and had my primary physician send messages and call. This went on for 4 months! I or my primary physician never heard anything back from him. I'm done and would NEVER recommend him!!
