Doesn't inspire confidence
I have a physical disability, and this seemed to make Dr. Tepler hesitant to provide even the most basic care for me. When he called with initial test results he seemed to be dismissive of me and said there was nothing he could do. It was apparent he hadn't closely looked at my chart as he recommended a medication I couldn't actually take, then rescinded the recommendation, and then rushed me off the phone. Moreover, he wouldn't do an endoscopy and colonoscopy, and when I saw another GI after him, they were unquestioningly willing to do so. Then, he called with further test results, and rather than assist me in obtaining a follow-up with a specialist, he just told me to write down a phone number. He said he wasn't concerned because I'm not presenting symptoms, except I am presenting symptoms, which is why I was tested in the first place. It just felt like he was trying to get rid of me rather than get to the bottom of things, and it was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

I called the Jersey City office because I was running late for my appointment. A girl picked up the phone and said, "Doctor's Office Please Hold". She never came back to the phone. I was on hold for 10 minutes. I found a parking spot on the street. I walked into the office and two girls were behind the desk laughing and cursing and talking in a very vulgar manner, while I was still on hold. I conveyed I was still on hold and they laughed.

Dr. Tepler is great. He took care of me when I was in the hospital, when his partner Dr. Raskin was away. I was very pleased with Dr. Tepler's competent care and he is very kind. If I could make any recommendation to him and Dr. Raskin-for the salvation of the practice, please do something about your staff. I called the Jersey City office to request an appointment and the staff was rude, cursed and hung up on me. They are great doctors, but the low class staff make them look bad.
