My first visit was 1 year ago. I needed surgery right away due to spinal compression. He explained everything that would be happening through surgery and recovery. He is very compassionate listened to my questions and gave complete answers. Surgery was done 1 week later, every post op appointment was very good. Checked on healing progress several times during this past year. I have healed and he will do a follow up appointment in 1 year. Would highly recommend him should you need any type of neuro surgery. Office staff has always been very friendly.

I had not had nightmares about Helbig for a while, it’s just that seeing a doctor at Stanford about my paralyzed bladder has brought my PTSD back. My wife said I’m crying out in my sleep again, a sure sign. I didn’t mean to cause any inconvenience for Helbig, or make him mad, I just wanted to know why I needed an operation, to hear it from my surgeon, before I was wheeled into an operating room. I wanted to know if I had any options. I was changing jobs in 7 days, and wondered if I should call that off, since I had months of sick leave where I was, if I needed it. I even wanted to know what my MRI showed, before they pushed me into an operating room. I’m trying to word this carefully. That didn’t go well, at all. Not at all. He never did talk to me about any of that, even the MRI. My surgery was delayed, and the next day it was too late. Make sure you have witnesses with you when you go to Doctor’s Hospital.

Dr. Helbig is the best Dr. that I could have ever asked for . I did a lot of research and he is the best of the best .He did a lower spine surgery for me ,He is extremely knowledgeable, told me everything I needed to know. From what all was going on with my spine , to the surgery itself and what to expect with recovery. Over a year later and pretty much pain free! A complete difference! I would recommend him to anyone !

Dr. Helbig gave my husband back to me. He would have spent the last 4+ years in a rest home if Dr. had not done the surgeries needed. I pray for him everyday and thank God for allowing us to find this miracle doctor. Also, his bedside manner is perfect. He tells you exactly what to expect upfront. The good, the bad, and the ugly, then he lets you make the decision to proceed. I would and have recommended him to everyone. Love this Doctor!
