Poor availability with follow ups
The Stanford patient portal in general is terrible and Dr. Fernandez-Miranda's office is especially disorganized and understaffed. I've been trying to reschedule an appointment for several weeks as there is no way to contact their office directly and must leave a message and magically be available when they decide to call back within 48 hours.

Highly Recommend Dr. JFM!
My niece lives overseas and we just had on online consult with Dr. JFM. He thoroughly explained everything, entertained our questions, was never dismissive, and provided honest advice. Amidst his vast experience backed with very strong credentials, there was no air of arrogance, compassion emanates in his persona. He left such a positive impact on us, and we will look back to this day and remember him with gratitude in our hearts. We’re so blessed that it was his office who responded to us first. Wish we had more doctors like him. We can rest easy starting tonight. Thank you so much Dr. JFM, we will never forget you.

A Very kind and resbonsible Doctor
Telehealth
I had a tricky problem with my pituitary grand cyst and I tried the best hospital and doctors in the whole UAE and they all think my vision loss is becuase the cyst and suggest brain surgery. I send an email to Dr. Fernandez-Miranda and he respond very quick, and to my surprise, he even offered me free consultation based on my condition. I have a video consultation with Dr Fernandez-Miranda, he carefully read my MRI report and image, and ask me detailed question about my symptom. He suggests me not to give any surgery, and also explain me why. To be honest, I think he is 10/10!

Dr. Fernandez-Miranda saved my mom's life. He is very professional and considerate. He explained things and procedures in detail and addressed all our questions and concerns which made us feel confident with the surgery. Due to my mom's progressive condition, he even postponed other patient to get her surgery scheduled soon. The outcome of my mom's surgery was very successful. I highly recommend him to patients looking for a neurosurgeon.

I met Dr. Miranda for the first time yesterday. I am scheduled for a very complex brain surgery with him at Stanford in June, 2019. My husband and I knew right away that he was the right doctor for this surgery. Dr. Miranda is very experienced, knowledgeable, and has a very nice demeanor. I got the feeling that I was in the best hands for a very serious surgery. Joyce Kellogg

I am so grateful for the hard work Dr Miranda does. I was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma May 27, 2015 and had my surgery to remove my tumor on June 11, 2015. The surgery was a success and Dr. Miranda was so warm, confident and amazing every step of the way. An angel.
