Fantastic physician
Dr. Melon has helped me several times when I had problems with salivary stones in the salivary ducts of my mouth. He is very understanding, knowledgeable and listens very well to me. He has always been able to find a solution to ease the pain. He had to remove one of my submandibular salivary glands due to a large number of stones in it. The surgery went well, and his post-opt visits completed all that I needed for a full recovery. I do not believe that I could have found a better doctor to help me with this problem. I highly recommend him for any ear, nose or throat problems. He and his staff are great!

Dr. Melon is great, he was very thoughtful in dealing with my child, he is nervous about being at a doctor and Dr. Melon made him feel good being at the doctor. He took time to listen to us and then explain what he thought we should do.

Dr. Melon spent time listening and came up with a plan to help me overcome various sinus issues. He reassured me regarding various medical procedures and described in layman terms his ideas and an approach to make me feel better. He has followed through on these plans and things have gone as he described. I appreciate his approach to medical care

After another doctor in Hickory brushed a lump on my throat away, Dr. Melon ran tests and performed a partial lobectomy. He then diagnosed me with thyroid cancer and performed a total thyroidectomy two weeks later. His personality, his expertise, his education, his explanations, his bed side manner - - all phenomenal! It's hard to find good doctors who know their stuff and really care about their patients, so finding Dr. Melon was a lifesaver for me. Hickory is INCREDIBLY lucky to have such a wonderful doctor and I'm so grateful to have been his patient.

Our first (and so far only) visit with Dr. Melon gets an A+++. He listened to us, actually read the information we filled out on the patient forms, asked us relevant questions, explained options we had as well as his recommendation, answered all questions we had, used his training and God given sense to make a diagnosis and give us a treatment plan - all WITHOUT doing unnecessary tests since the tests would not have changed his recommendation. We were WELL pleased 100%!
