Biography: Dr. Farah Hameed was raised in Houston, TX for most of her life. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in the Plan II Honors Program and graduated with University Honors. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she was awarded her Medical Degree. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Boston University Medical Center, and she completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. She completed her fellowship in Spine and Sports Medicine at Northwestern University through the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago where she won the Baskin Award for excellence in research. She serves as the Medical Director of women's health rehabilitation. She is board certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Hameed is also an Associate Professor at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in the Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine. She serves as the Department Chair of Quality and Patient Safety and is the Associate Chair of Faculty Development. She has been nominated and inducted into the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE). She has also been named as one of NY's Super Doctors. Dr. Hameed sees patients of all ages, from adolescents to adults. Additionally, she specializes in pregnancy related back and pelvic girdle pain as well as caring for female athletes. Her goal is to plan comprehensive and structured rehabilitation programs for patients by treating their injuries quickly and creating a personalized regimen of care for each patient. She also focuses on education and awareness of injury prevention through proper training and technique. Her areas of clinical interest are low back disorders, overuse injuries, sports prevention, women's/adolescent female health, and pregnancy and post-partum related pain. Her current clinical research is on understanding and developing ways to prevent and treat pregnancy related lumbopelvic pain.

Care Philosophy: I believes that the fundamental principle of rehabilitation medicine is to improve quality of life by enhancing function to help children realize their full potential. Pediatric rehabilitation medicine requires an astute application of that philosophy in order to recognize the unique challenges children face as they age. I utilizes an interdisciplinary team-based approach to prioritize the needs of the child and family, often including physical, occupational, and speech therapists, orthotists/prosthetists, and social workers. My areas of interest include cerebral palsy (pediatric and adult), developmental delay, other acquired and congenital brain disorders, spinal cord injury and spina bifida, acute musculoskeletal injuries, muscular dystrophies,and other neuromuscular conditions. I offer muscle tone management, including botulinum toxin injections and intrathecal baclofen pump management, bracing, prosthetics, assistive device and adaptive equipment, & therapeutic program referrals.

Biography: ENGLISH: Dr. Tracey Isidro is a Sports Medicine and non-interventional spine physician in the Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Isidro is double-board certified in Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and completed her sports medicine fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medicine. After graduating from Rice University, she attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch where she was Vice President of her class and an Interprofessional Scholar. She did an internship in Internal Medicine at Baylor Scott & White and completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the then #7 program in the nation Baylor College of Medicine and trained at the then #2 U.S. News and World Report rehabilitation hospital TIRR Memorial Hermann. Dr. Isidro was awarded Top Doctor's Women in Medicine Award in 2022 for being a Top Sports Medicine doctor in New York. Dr. Isidro treats and manages multiple sports and musculoskeletal conditions, uses diagnostic ultrasound as an extension of her physical exam, and performs a variety of ultrasound-guided joint and tendon injections. She incorporates active listening with a multi-disciplinary, holistic, and non-operative approach where she teaches her patients about their condition and empowers them to take an active role in their health. She also includes aspects of Lifestyle Medicine such as physical activity, nutrition, sleep, stress management, social network, and substance avoidance in her treatment plans. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Isidro is very passionate about leadership, mentorship, and advocacy for women physiatrists and physician wellness. The Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) selected her for the 2022 McLean Outstanding Resident/Fellow Award, the top national award that is historically given to one trainee for their dedication to medical education, research, academic performance, and leadership. While at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Isidro was the only trainee to receive the 2021 Women of Excellence Award for her contributions related to developing a leadership curriculum for women physiatrists. Further, she held leadership roles with AAP and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) and was the only resident in the nation from 2018-2019 to serve on the trainee councils of both national organizations. She pioneered the AAP Words of Wellness Podcast Series that has been listened to close to 6,000 times.
