Dr. Udemgba Aguocha became a cardiologist when she realized how great a role cardiovascular disease was playing in the health of patients and how this was negatively affecting so many people around the world. She says "Almost everyone is aware of a loved one impacted by this condition. By teaching patients the importance of prevention and controlling co-morbidities including lifestyle changes and setting goals, I aim to reduce the burden in our community."Dr. Udemgba Aguocha completed her undergraduate education in Biochemistry at the University of Mississippi. She went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi, and her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Udemgba Aguocha completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Florida Health in Jacksonville, Florida.Dr. Udemgba Aguocha's professional interests include nutrition education and women's cardiovascular health. Dr. Udemgba Aguocha says, "Being able to care for others in a way that will impact their lives positively is the reason I went into medicine." In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, gourmet cooking, recreational soccer and watching musicals.
