He performs both partial and total knee replacements as well as total hip replacements using a minimally invasive direct anterior approach. He also treats young adult hip conditions including hip dysplasia and femoroacetabular impingement or ``FAI`` employing hip arthroscopy as well as periacetabular osteotomy, or ``PAO`` (a specialized procedure to reshape the hip socket in order to preserve a young patients native hip). During his fellowship he also focused on the treatment of complications that have arisen after previous hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Mudrick grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He is a candidate member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, a member of the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of Virginia and the Richmond Academy of Medicine. He recently co-wrote a book chapter on the management of knee instability after total knee arthroplasty, as well as, published a case report regarding the relationship between lumbar spine surgery and hip instability.
