The ability to work closely with patients and with specialists in a variety of fields to solve complex clinical questions draws me to the field of non-malignant hematology. I am lucky to have had the opportunity to train under brilliant thinkers and exceptional role models from whom I have learned the importance of ensuring that each patient truly understands his or her diagnosis and the rationale behind treatment. I am excited to be joining the Department of Hematology at Weill Cornell and look forward to continuing in clinical investigations in hopes of improving diagnosis and treatment in the fields of thrombosis and immune thrombocytopenia. Christine A. Garcia, M.D., M.P.H. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Garcia cares for patients with lung cancer and patients with non-malignant (benign) hematological conditions. Additionally, she is the Director of Quality and Patient Safety and serves as the Chair of the Oncology Quality and Patient Safety Committee.Dr. Garcia received her undergraduate B.S. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received her M.P.H. from University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to medical school, Dr. Garcia worked for the County of San Diego Health and Human Services and University of California San Diego. She received her medical degree from St. George's University with a Distinction in Research. She then received her internal medicine training at State University of New York at Stony Brook University Hospital, where she also served as a chief resident. Dr. Garcia completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.Dr. Garcia's research is focused on quality improvement initiatives in cancer care. Additionally, she is the recipient of two American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Awards in Palliative Care and Quality Care for her research related to quality improvement initiatives. She is a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology (ASH), American College of Physicians (ACP) and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Landres offers expertise in all aspects of high risk obstetrics, performs obstetric ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis procedures including amniocentesis, and cerclage placement. Her special interests include management of diabetes in pregnancy, hypertensive disorders, autoimmune disorders and fetal growth restriction. Dr. Landres is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care and supporting her patients throughout pregnancy and post-partum.

Dr. Pri-Paz has stated that the move to join the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College under the guidance of Dr. Frank Chervenak, the Department Chair, is a natural one for him. Dr. Pri-Paz believes in working with his patients to develop a relationship centered around the primary focus of their health. He strives to accomplish this by open communication--listening to patients' needs and providing them with the necessary information and care--so they can make the best possible choices and receive the best possible care.

Dr. Julianne Lauring is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She graduated from Boston University and received her M.D. from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.She was the Associate Residency Program Director for OB/GYN at Umass Chan Medical school from 2018 to 2020. She was awarded the faculty teaching award at Umass Memorial Health in 2019. She assumed the role of Maternity Center Medical Director at Umass Memorial Health in 2020. During her time, she implemented a significant number of quality improvement projects that improved patient care and patient experience.She is excited to join the team at Weill Cornell Medicine to continue the ongoing work. She is particularly interested in improving the ways we provide care while also enhancing the patient experience and reducing health disparities.

I have been Service Chief of the BenignHematology Service in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology since 2006. As a clinician, my main interest is in the care of patients with thrombotic and bleeding disorders. As a researcher who conducts clinical trials in Benign Hematology, my interest is in thrombosis and hemostasis, specifically thrombophilic disorders and women's health issues. It is my hope that through dedication to the care of each individual patient, and dedication to research that will ultimately improve that care, we will meet our overall mission of helping our patients to have a better quality of life.
