He specializes in joint preservation surgeries in athletes using the latest evidence-based techniques to improve outcomes and deter joint replacement surgery. Biography: Dr. Kim graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering and computer science. He obtained his MD degree at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed residency training at Temple University Hospital and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Georgetown University. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and is a Fellow in American Orthopaedic Surgeons Society. Dr. Kim treats patients with all types of orthopedic conditions but specializes in sports medicine and osteoarthritis problems. Most of his elective cases are performed via minimally invasive arthroscopic approach. He also performs total knee replacements utilizing robotic surgery. Dr. Kim provides skilled surgical care based on years of experience and thousands of surgical cases. Dr. Kim volunteers his time at local high schools taking care of athletes. He currently serves as the team physician to Battlefield High School and US Speedskating. He regularly provides lectures for certified athletic trainers of Prince William County Schools and works closely with athletic training department of George Mason University. He is actively involved in researches in sports medicine in conjunction with the George Mason University Athletic Training Department. Dr. Kim has numerous honors. He was named the recipient of Dr. Frank McCuen Sports Medicine Award by the Virginia High School Coaches' Association. He was named one of Washington D.C.'s top experts in Sports Medicine by Washingtonian Magazine. He was listed as one of Northern Virginia's Top Doctors by Northern Virginia Magazine.

Biography: Dr. George Aguiar was drawn to the field of orthopaedics out of a desire to help improve and change the lives of patients with acute and chronic injuries. Intrigued by the constant challenge to stay abreast of the latest technologies and procedures within the orthopaedic specialty, Dr. Aguiar enjoys interacting daily with patients and using his surgical skills to improve patient disabilities. Dr. Aguiar has tailored his practice to include primarily sports medicine and adult knee and shoulder reconstruction. With extensive experience in total hip and knee replacements, Dr. Aguiar's special interests also include arthroscopic shoulder instability repair, ankle arthroscopy, and total knee replacements.

Biography: Dr. A. Brion Gardner is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and has received several military awards including the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his care of critically wounded Marines and Navy Sailors injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Gardner is enthusiastic about all sports, fitness and wellness. He has been a contributor to WashingtonPost.com in the NFL Forum The League, writing a weekly analysis of sports injuries. He has also been a guest expert on NFL satellite radio discussing various injury related issues of collegiate and professional football players. He has been a contributor to various television and radio sports talk shows as a medical analyst.

Biography: Dr. Bradley Boyd, DO is an Orthopedic Surgery Specialist who practices in Fairfax, VA. He is 45 years old and has been practicing for 18 years. Dr. Bradley Boyd, DO is affiliated with Reston Hospital Center.

Biography: Finding great satisfaction in watching someone recover from an injury and return to living, Dr. David Novak chose the field of orthopaedic surgery because he wanted to have a direct impact on the quality of life of his patients. After earning a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Novak received his medical degree from Georgetown University where he was named a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society. He remained in Washington, DC, at Georgetown University Medical Center to complete a residency in orthopaedic surgery. He then completed advanced fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Van Nuys, California. Dr. Novak worked intensively with some of the best sports and arthroscopic surgeons in the country during his fellowship training and today is able to perform advanced arthroscopic techniques for a number of orthopaedic problems. His special interests include sports medicine and sports injuries, complex problems of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic shoulder stabilization for loose or dislocating shoulder, ACL and ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair, and cartilage restoration of the knee, and adult joint reconstruction.
