Biography: Dr. Nicholas Goyeneche earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed a four-year residency in the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. This training program is recognized for an emphasis on non-surgical treatment of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles). In this training, he also received expertise in treating a full spectrum of traumatic brain injuries, from severe injuries requiring inpatient care, to sports concussions. Following the completion of his residency training, Dr. Goyeneche was selected into a fellowship training program in musculoskeletal and sports medicine at The Andrews Institute for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Here, he was able to work alongside and learn from innovative and world-renowned leaders in the field of orthopedics and sports medicine, including Dr. James Andrews, the current team physician of Auburn University and the Washington Commanders of the NFL. Dr. Goyeneche also assisted in the care of NCAA student-athletes at The University of West Florida, as well as the Pensacola Blue Wahoos - the AA affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Dr. Goyeneche's expertise lies in newer, minimally invasive treatments for conditions such as arthritis, tendon pain, and acute sports injuries. These treatments include the Tenex procedure for chronic tendon pain, cooled radiofrequency ablation for chronic knee, hip, and shoulder pain, and ortho-biologic injections such as platelet-rich plasma and mesenchymal stem cells to stimulate healing and tissue regeneration. Crucial to the success of these procedures is the appropriate use of musculoskeletal ultrasound to deliver the treatment to a precise location without causing injury to nearby tissue such as nerves and blood vessels. Dr. Goyeneche also uses ultrasound extensively in his practice to diagnose orthopedic and sports injury conditions. Dr. Goyeneche is board certified by The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) with a certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine, and The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. He is a member of The American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, The American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Care Philosophy: As a pediatric orthopedist, my patient is the child, and my customer is the parent. It's important to me when the patient is old enough, to carry on my conversations with my patient directly, to engage them in their own health and well-being. We believe in the philosophy of family-centered care. We work closely with families to develop individualized and customized treatment plans and answer questions. I also work closely with my patient's pediatrician to ensure seamless treatment and healing of the incident, accident or condition that brought the patient to my door.

I listen, value a patient's input and attend to their individual needs. I communicate in a clear, timely manner and share all pertinent information. Care Philosophy: I am lucky to have the opportunity to include multiple medical specialties within my own personal practice seeing a wide variety of patients each day. This includes pediatric rehabilitation -- caring for children with a variety of neurologic, neuromuscular, and musculoskeletal disabilities -- as well as pediatric sports medicine and concussion management. In my role as a pediatric physiatrist (physical medicine & rehabilitation) working with children with disabilities, I enjoy the opportunity to develop long term relationships with my patients and their families. I strive to always provide as much detailed information to my patients to aide them in making care decisions for themselves and their children. I value time spent with my patients and families and always aim to never rush a patient during their appointment so that they leave each visit with all of their questions answered regarding their child who often has very complex medical needs. Providing education for the patient and family regarding their diagnosis as well as the reasoning behind my proposed plan of care is extremely important to improve effectiveness of treatment plans and positive outcomes. This is true not just in my pediatric PM&R population but also those individuals being seen in my sports medicine and concussion clinics where the goal is that of restoring function and returning to activity/play as quickly as possible but also as safely as possible. Finally, I value the opportunity to be the chosen provider for my patients to help be their guide either through the often complicated course of chronic medical conditions/disabilities or more acutely on the road to recovery from a musculoskeletal injury or concussion and make myself readily available by phone or email to my patients at all times.

Biography: Through her own health journey and exposure to her grandfathers family practice, Dr. Fussell became interested in a career in medicine. Dr. Fussell received her undergraduate degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. She then returned home to complete her medical education at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. There, Dr. Fussell was a recipient of the Patrick Taylor Foundation scholarship for primary care. Dr. Fussell completed her residency at LSU Rural Family Medicine Residency in Bogalusa, LA where she served as chief resident. Dr. Fussell and her husband Brad, a native of Covington, have three children Frances, Camille, and Fitz.Dr. Fussell is dedicated to creating individualized treatment for her patients to improve disease outcomes and ultimately enhance quality of life.

Care Philosophy: As physician and patient, we work together to accomplish a desired goal. My role is to provide accurate information about the condition or diagnosis including treatment options that may or may not involve surgical intervention. The patient's role is to own their success by committing to a course of treatment and giving it their all to achieve rehabilitation of their limb. Together, we are a team with one goal in mind, and that is returning my patient to the way of life that was interrupted by accident, incident or condition.
