Biography: Dr. Anirudh Bhargava hails from Alexandria, Louisiana. He completed his undergraduate degree at Emory University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavior Biology where he received the honor of Phi Beta Kappa. He completed medical school at Louisiana State University New Orleans in 2017 with induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the esteemed University of Alabama Birmingham in 2020 followed by a specialized cardiovascular disease fellowship at the same institution where he focused on advanced cardiac imaging along with developing a mastery in all aspects of cardiac care. He has had the privilege of working with master clinician scientists during his residency and fellowship with numerous publications in esteemed cardiovascular journals. He additionally has represented Alabama at the national American College of Cardiology FIT Jeopardy competition in 2023. He was voted among his peers as best teaching fellow during his fellowship. With a strong foundation in internal medicine and a focus on cardiovascular health, Dr. Bhargava's interests lie in various aspects of cardiology. Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Dr. Josh McKay is originally from League City, Texas. He obtained his B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University and then went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston. Dr. McKay completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Houston Methodist Hospital, where he was selected as chief cardiology Fellow. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography and Nuclear Medicine. Dr. Bassiouny is trained in all aspects of clinical cardiac electrophysiology including catheter ablation of complex arrhythmias, placement of left atrial occlusion devices, and implantation and extraction of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators. His areas of interest include ablation of atrial fibrillation as well as endocardial and epicardial ablation of ventricular tachycardia.Dr. Bassiouny earned his medical degree with honors from Cairo University. After the completion of his residency in Egypt, he joined the Cairo University Hospital as an attending physician. Dr. Bassiouny came to the United States to complete his Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. This led to a decade of additional training and research within the Cleveland Clinic which included a second residency, a cardiovascular fellowship, and an additional year of electrophysiology fellowship.Dr. Bassiouny's research interests include atrial fibrillation and cardiac pacing and resynchronization. He has led several studies examining the optimal anticoagulation and ablation strategies for patients undergoing atrial fibrillation ablation. He has published many articles in scientific journals, several of which were cited in the American and European guidelines for atrial fibrillation ablation and cardiac resynchronization. Additionally, Dr. Bassiouny has co-authored several book chapters on the ablation of atypical accessory pathways."As a Physician, I have a responsibility to my patients as well as to the field of medicine.
